  • Meshuggah has been pissing off other bands with songs so overly complicated like these since before i even knew what metal was. Love it.

  • My dad used to make me bob my head to this song when I was a kid. Now I'm 16 and this song still makes me wanna bob my head.

  • I fail to understand how no one can understand their music. Its all in 4/4 pretty much like seriously I have always found their music to be very followable. Yeah the syncopation is interesting but their songs are pretty much all in 4/4, (with a few exceptions) I think people overthink their music way too much. Just feel how the rhythm fits in with the 4/4 pattern. I LOOOOVE this band btw

  • @thebeastofdoom It's because they use Polyrhythms. For example, Tomas Haake (the drummer) uses Polyrhythms when drumming while maintaining a steady 4/4 beat. You really have to own their CDs or listen to more of them to understand why it's difficult for some people to get what they're doing.

  • @TheDeftonesVault I know they use polyrhythms. I am a session musician and a teacher and I understand what they are doing. Like this song is TECHNICALLY 6 measures of 5/16 and then a little 2/16 thrown on the end cycling over the 4/4(the beginning at least) I know all that, I am just saying I feel that kind of thing naturally and fail to get why other people dont. and yes I have all their cds.

  • @thebeastofdoom Well, I guess you shouldn't have posted it, then. You basically just answered your question. The reason you fail to see why it's difficult for some people to listen to them is because you feel it naturally while other people don't.

  • @TheDeftonesVault i guess so

  • @thebeastofdoom You're right with the 6*5/16+2/16 :)

  • @thebeastofdoom Please tell us something every hipster out there alredy have said. I doubt you can find the the downbeats.

  • @NoaOno First of all I am not a hipster. I am not rich enough to afford the pre torn jeans. Second of all I can find the down beats. I am a teacher of drums and I know what polyrhythms are and all that(I actually performed electric red for a student of mine once to demonstrate, which by the way the beginning would be described as 4 measures of 7 and then one measure of 4 over a 4/4 pattern)I am just saying that this band is easy to follow once you give the song a good listen, chill out.

  • @thebeastofdoom That's true, I haven't tried this one out. But I would say that this is easily their hardest song to 'understand', because it's so fast

  • I try to headbang "correctly" but with Meshuggah i always fuck up :D

  • Oh shit! It's the washing machine from Hell!

  • The legend says that if you listen to enough Meshuggah, you will transcend time and space.

  • @Rowanthebeast its true, ask my new friends Oden and Zagthar, i met them last.......what you humans might call tomorrow

  • how...the...fuck... great now im dizzy

  • This video went viral on Maseru

  • I programmed a concatenation of three string-type variables in C++ while listening to this song

  • essa classificação indicativa tá erradaaaaaaaaaaa

    FOI INEDEQUADO PRO MEU CÉREBROOOOOOO

DEUS ME LIVROU SIM! NÃO SOU ESSE TIPO DE PÚBLICO. NÃO É LIVRE PRA MIM.

  • @TheDrixstar Você é adorável.

  • ME CHUPA! SEI LÁ....QUE VIOLÊNCIA NAS GOELAS É ESSA?

  • NOSSSA SENHORAAAAAA....ISSO É ME CHUGA MEEESMO. CHUPOU MEUS OUVIDOS AGORAAAA....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • If you consider this Metal, there's definitely something wrong with you...

  • @chaclapa This IS Metal. Swedish Metal at that. They have more influence on metal than anything you listen to I guarantee that. Meshuggah= METAL.

  • @chaclapa listen to bleed or sickening. i could see this song as not appealing to a first time listener but trust me theyre metal dude. just groovy rhythmic extra heavy metal

  • @TigerBloodElite LOL like I never heard Bleed.... that song SUCKS!!!! seriously those guys can't even write a song and structure it...

  • @chaclapa so if you know you dont like them then why are you searching songs written and performed by them? also i was trying to be nice to you but i see you only wanna take advantage of the fact that were conversing through the internet and act like you know what youre talking about. if you knew anything, you would know to at least respect meshuggah because theyre incredible musicians and pioneers. iron maiden sucks but theyre classic so i dont say anything. if you dont like, dont listen.simple

  • @chaclapa How in any planet is this not metal? By the way, just because they use polyrhythms does not mean they don't know how to structure a song. It's their way of confusing people like you.

  • @Faze390 I love how they play. Since their lyrics are usually about the mind, it fits that they use polyrhythms to express how fucked the mind is.

  • @chaclapa this is metal

  • @ReyCarmesi97 Something is wrong with you.

  • @chaclapa i dont think so

  • @ReyCarmesi97 I see you're a fan of King Crimson

  • @KangaRuthless i love them

  • Comment removed

  • @chaclapa Oh, Jesus. You know nothing about Metal. Just....

  • i love how everything is mashed up so u cant here whats what

  • well iv'e met these guys in real life and they are pretty nice

  • The first time I heard this song, I understood absolutely NOTHING about what was going on. Fantastic.

  • What's makes Meshuggah special? Well, how could a band this heavy make music you cant exactly headbang to? must be out of this world

  • @theguest00 Only aliens can headbang to this.

  • Not Metal.

  • @chaclapa ....dumbass. :)

  • @MetalAttack1986 Fail.

  • @chaclapa you fail

  • @chaclapa you're adorable

  • @chaclapa And how exactly is this not metal?

  • @chaclapa You actually have some pretty cool taste,

  • thanks alot for posting this track but how come only half the kyrics are posted ? still appreciate the effort though

  • WOW this shit sucks

  • @muffeater1985 no. you suck

  • It's Plug me in, reconnect me to myself

plug me in reconnect me to my Soul

  • I'll play this song at 21/12/2012 while the sky is raining meteor and shower the earth with burning rocks and erupting lava from exploding volcano while the ground subsides and the emerging tidal waves will shallow what is left of the modern civilization and the whole world get covered by toxic clouds that pouring acid rains down the chaosphere. woooooooooooooooooooo.

  • lmao that was pretty interesting- caught me when i was high ;D

  • lmfao @ holding F11

  • one two three four. magic. love fred on this stuff

  • Bearcore is shit meshuggah is beast GTFO

  • If you guys like this you should check out

    BearCore

just type in "bear core" in your search bar

    guys, trust me

as a fan of Meshuggah for 7 years, i know you'll BearCore if you like this!!!

  • this is racket!

  • @ShyroiVIDS This is a rhythmic masterpiece

  • It was great - when it stopped!

  • I NEED TO TAKE A TRIP TO THE RECORD STORE

  • The hardest part of playing meshuggah is buying an 8string guitar

  • @dopefiend138 I did that about a month ago. The hardest part is deciphering those super-low notes, especially songs like in death is death and dancers to a discordant system, it's just non-stop

  • @Meshuggaaaahhhhh Dancers is a BEAST!!

  • @dopefiend138 their signature model is like 8-9k euros...

  • @dopefiend138 they used an 8string on chaosphere?

  • @dopefiend138 They used 7 strings on Chaosphere.

  • the drums are so complicated that I cannot even imagine me playing this song :|

  • The solo in the slowed version is WAAYYYYYY BETTER. After hearing this again, the slowed version is wayyy better

  • I think I survived, but I probly has brain damage much.

  • ranting ramsay sent me

  • curious.

  • 2:38 WOW Jazzy & Epic. Meshuggah is a legend!

  • I would headbang to this until every hole in my face bled, if only i could find the downbeats XP

  • @BioGeometric066 That was hilarious!

  • The slowed down version is better, and needs more views!!

    /watch?v=IYRTeBRATnI

  • this was one of my first meshuggah's songs and i dont fucking remember how many times i listened to it before my fucking tiny brains got the riff guitar beat and drum beat throughout the whole song. same thing for new millenium cyanide christ. goddamit. at least now i can headbang to it correctly.lol.

  • One of the most intense songs ever!

  • Chaos.

  • Bonus Raccoons

  • 3:54

I didn't know it was possible to blow a bubble with your lungs.

  • True chaos in the form of true music.

  • The onely bad thing about this band is that when you start to listen them, you want to throw away all the other bands.

  • @007Pogo Yep, I agree. Except for a couple of other bands, after Meshuggah everything else (even stuff that's labeled as "extreme") sounds pretty tame.

The other thing about Meshuggah is that their sound feel so... relevant? If you watch the news, I mean, war in Afpak, political violence in Middle East, narco war in Mexico, confusion, chaos.. what other soundtrack could you use?

  • @signorellil +2

  • @signorellil There's always Dillinger Escape Plan for that :D

  • @Kamdonion I'm sorry, DEP are a good band, I like some of their music, but they can't simply get to the point as Meshuggah do. Just my two c, of course...

  • The rare trax slower version is better

  • @TheAntiPop777 - naw, this one rules. The other one makes sense, and proves that this is in 4. This one is more aggressive IMO.

  • @holygroove2 The beat is altered in the remix.

  • i missed the Like button...fuck!!

  • OK. I've gone and bought alot of their albums, but this one sounds insane. Let's just say I don't have "I", Catch 33 and this one. GOT to find it. KILLIN riffs.

  • @TheAntiPop777 Wrong. The Rare Trax version is a remix. This is not sped up. That is slowed down. That's what a remix is, altered.

  • I want to headbang but i cant get the rythm XD JK

  • this guitar solo is a big eargasm. one of the most mouthwatering i have ever heard.

  • This is THE SOUNDTRACK of Apocalypse, in case it might happen.

  • i love swedish people

  • This song puts the Chaos in Chaosphere. I love it. I wish they had done some more fast and furious, balls to the wall songs like this. :P Well there is The Mouth, of course.

  • @dujl What about I? ;)

  • @gibbsies I was specifically talking about Chaosphere.

  • @gibbsies But I is a good example.

  • This band is fucking genius

  • 2:13 sounds like an autistic child going apeshit on a CASIO keyboard

    I love it.

  • @slowblood99 Love your comment.

  • @slowblood99 I love it also. Missing these parts in their current productions.

  • @slowblood99 That is one sick autistic kid! lol XD

  • @slowblood99 Idk, i think it sounds more like GLaDOS' inflection whenever she is speaking.

  • @slowblood99 It's TIMMAY on a keyboard solo

  • @150penguins And the lords of the underground!!!!

  • @slowblood99 Dada,da,da,dada.Dannaananaaahnunuh!!!!

  • @slowblood99 dude, that made my day! that HAS to be the best comment on youtube :D

  • i'm sitting here without a guitar trying to tab this.... what the fuck.... hahahahaha

  • i highly recommend holding down the f11 button guys!

  • @l0rdr1ddler on my mac that makes it quiet! HOW DARE YOU TRY THAT SHIT!!

  • @l0rdr1ddler

Hahahaha my screen is head banging!

  • @l0rdr1ddler That is fucking amazing. Eventually I have an old Pioneer foto as my wallpaper, which means that this amazing, but disturbing image of Saturn keeps popping up. It's fantastic.

  • @l0rdr1ddler I almost had a heart attack from that comment XDD

  • @l0rdr1ddler what does that f11 button do? I pressed it and i think nt happened

  • @PanagosGr33kG134EVER

    hold it down!

  • @ShroomSamich its the Full DScreen i see. So what?

  • @l0rdr1ddler super intense lol

  • @l0rdr1ddler Holy shit that made me laugh!

  • @l0rdr1ddler

    hahahahahahahahahahaha \m/

  • @l0rdr1ddler lol what's so cool bout it man? its the expanding of browser window fullscreen. or did u mean that it goes in sync with the song? i cant say so.

  • @l0rdr1ddler TIL I'm epileptic.

  • cabezones putos. paquis putos.

  • cabezones putos.

  • @ThimsNovedDrahcir You won't reply because you have nothing of value to say. If you think I'm mad then that's because you're an idiot who needs some kind of cheap, make believe assertion to shield yourself from words you can't handle.

Some of us are actually used to writing, so that things like this come without effort. I understand that it could appear as some kind of feat to you, or an inconvenience, but I assure you it's not.

Have fun trolling, but the truth is you can't make a point.

  • @ThimsNovedDrahcir It would seem so since you're appearing so butthurt. Maybe the wrong kind of excitement. OK, so you didn't leave a word out? I just thought if you had - "i just DON'T like the music." - your comment wouldn't have looked as contorted nonsensical.

Fact remains that you made a stupid fucking comment about the intellectual value of these lyrics that you don't understand, even though they appear straightforward to you. Meshuggah is more intellectual than any band you know.

  • @ThimsNovedDrahcir It sucks when you accidentally leave a word out and it changes the entire context of your message, doesn't it? I guess you're just beside yourself with excitement from the unusual attention you're getting.

  • @ThimsNovedDrahcir Meshuggah is way more intellectual than Mastodon. I don't think you you can even start to grasp the concepts behind these lyrics, as they're far too introspective and figuratively challenging for just anyone to catch on to. Actually, I don't get why you even comment on them, when you're only betraying your ignorance. I will not understand the folly of people.

  • @dujl Thank you, I'm glad you can see this and understand it. I don't see how people miss the whole value of something and it's meaning, and yet to dismiss it. It can be false information but it's structure and message is there and alive, it is nothing foolish....whatever..

  • @ThimsNovedDrahcir I just think you don't understand them.

    The lyrics"

INTO THE CORE OF SELF, THE NEURO-AXIS, I FADE

WITHIN THE FADING CORE OF SELF I AM.....

GONE-BOUND, LOST, AWAY, PHASED OUT, NON-EXISTING"

in this song is very good and very nice. I do not believe it's GENIUS, but they are great. Better than tool. Tool has very basic ideas, and yet I still like them. But seriously, Meshuggah's lyrics are dumb? Why? I still say read catch 33, it has great concepts.

  • @ThimsNovedDrahcir Okay? Tool? I love tool and I write lyrics myself, and tool is NOTHING. Maynard has very basic idealism/philosophy about things and with his metaphors. Very straight forward, straight forward concepts. They don't dig into anything deep. Well maybe it's deep compared to what else you see out there, I understand. And mastadon I don't know. BUT Meshuggah has GREAT lyrics. Do you just not understand? Read catch 33's lyrics. If you think they are bad, please explain why before

  • @ThimsNovedDrahcir that's because you're an idiot. These lyrics aren't for idiots.

  • I also like slo mo version on the Rare Trax cd,when you listen to that version it puts you in a whole different mode IMO.

  • all those that say something to the effect of "omg, i can't headbang to this beat" and etc.... Listen to Thomas' Cymbal hand (his right hand), head bang to that, as that is the Metronome of the Superband known as Meshuggah. It matters not where the snare and bass drums land, as they are all divisible by the counts he is keeping with the cymbals. And for fuck's sake, listen to some jazz sometime, might give you something to think about (Alan Holdsworth) -- Mfan.

  • This song is basically like pulling my brain through a straw and stretching it into a flitered, water meat substance.

  • This is Jesus.

  • I'm not a huge fan of metal but that's really cool !

  • Long time classic...important music!!!

  • Tomas Haake vs Andols Herrick? anyone?

  • @MetallicAtack Let's not do the whole "red is better than blue" thing. It always leads to a flame war and makes everyone involved look like a dick wearing a toupee.

  • @RipshawKlavicus I was never trying to start a flame war, I was just asking if it would be a good battle.

And if you want me to remove it, I will.

  • @MetallicAtack Naw, by all means, it's good to make mention of other musicians to check out. I didn't mean to imply that you were trying to start a flame war, it just tends to happen when the musician vs. this musician thing is brought up. Some people just can't be civilized and open minded when it comes to comparing talent, but sometimes style and method transcend talent, rendering comparison obsolete. But hey, to each their own. Go with what you enjoy. Music=life.

  • every time I listen to chaosphere I feel the need to brush my teeth

  • just fucking great solo of fredrik

  • Alright, so, my right speaker's been blown out for like a week, and as soon as I listen to this song, it just starts working again and blasts out some 'Shug. Almost like it's been asleep and it just needed some heavy ass music to wake up. Meshuggah: So metal it resurrects technology.

  • @arlothellama Goddamn. That is brilliant. How have I never heard that before? 'Shug. You sir, are the fucking man.

  • @arlothellama Now if that's not metal I don't know what is!!!! Hell yeah man.....

  • hands down my favorite Meshuggah offering

  • This song is good, but the slowed-down version on Rare-Trax pwns this song, hands down.

  • @pdblouin33 It's not as good, I don't think.

  • FUCKING SICK!!!!!!

  • I love Meshuggah, it's like having a private portable tornado and I am in the eye of it.

  • @Tentacleed nailed it man||

  • @Tentacleed fuck that sounds wondrously vivid lmao

  • it seems that that the vocals are generally faster on this album

  • This is madness!

  • @nvanarnhem This. is. SPARTA!!!!

  • anyone know another music with a sound (i'm assuming its guitar) like at 2:13-3:05? cos it is an insane sound but i've only ever heard it on this song

  • @feedthefurnace6 neurotica

  • @feedthefurnace6 Much of Frederick Thordendal's solo album "Special Defects - Sol Niger Within: Version 2.0" is based around this kind of stuff. I think it came out around the same time too.

  • 1:02 - 1:12

  • PLUG ME IN!!!! RECONNECT ME TO MYSELF!!!!!!!! mind, face and ball melting stuff.

  • Meshuggah are awesome! There's no other band that could pull this off, Meshuggah own!

  • haake is the greatest drummer alive he fucking owns everyone INCLUDING chris adler

  • He is a sequencing machine
