@woodros I was 15 in '83 when I met Kurt. The lead singer only uses my name as her stagename. I decided to name a band Evanescence in 1983 when I started writing songs with Joe Elliott of Def Leppard and Kurt Cobain. Many of the songs performed by Evanescence were written by me.

@pannenkoekensmurf I am the songwriter Amy Lee who made up most of Evanescence songs and even made up songs for Nirvana and the Foo Fighters. The lead singer of Evanescence only uses my name as her stagename. I met Kurt Cobain in 1983 at the age of 15, and he was the co-writer on the songs.

It was my idea for her to use my name as I suffered from a horrible case of stagefright. I had intentions of performing the songs myself when I wrote the songs and came up with the band name, but was only able to do so in front of small crowds and usually with Kurt by my side on the stage for moral support.
