OK I have listened to this song for the third time in a row. I am at work "P-Poppin, doing the Eddie Bauer and doing the Beenie Weenie" Only in the N.O. can you do 15 dances in one song!!!!
Man this brings back so many memories. I use to spin this cut back n da days in the tonti court in that mighty laffite projects. TMC stand up. We had the whole neighborhood rockin to this and all the players and hustlers use to all get along while we were doingour thang.
i am from new orleans, i am a 36yr old gay woman, n e way me n my cousin used to rap i was triggaman so u know who she was we used to wait for this on q93 or fm 98 on fri n saturdays. i ms da old days, i live in h-town but i am so old sch
no they r not the same people but u know alot of them sound simular but all the rappers at home r in there own mind some better then others i love all our old school rappers, like dj jimi, tre 8, r.i.p. ju'c silkky slim, fila phil, most wanted posse, joe black, mc thick, mc t. tucker & dj irv, mia x, my 9th ward nigga mr. magic my 9th ward twins ghetto twins i mean i can go on & on i love so many old school a lot of new school, i ms magnolia slim, aka soulja slim, juve, b.g. n mystikal
krisando i am superdaddy b thats why i replied to what u sented me, n e way, i ms home nothing like new orleans, h-town is ok wit me i have no probs, n e way i ms old school rap, i ms the 80's & 90's the new shit is so fucking wack n lame to me i mean make my fucking brain hurt, my 14 yr old daughter be stone serious but i don't hate 80's n 90's was my era this is her's n e way again i ms the real hip hop old school shit.
This song, which was made in 1986 did come from the Showboys, who were from New York. In 1991-2, MC T. Tucker and DJ Jimi and DJ Irv sampled this song for the first New Orleans bounce song "Where Dey At." That is why we used the Triggerman beat.
What ppl dont know is that there are 3 types of beats, in which Mannie Fresh later made one. He did not however make Triggerman.
@nolachik504 YO!!!! Thank you SOO much for posting that!!!! What was soo funny was when I got to New Orleans (Dillard Univ) in 1991 and this was the NUMBER ONE song on ALL of the countdowns. I was like wait a minute, didn't this come out in 86??? You could not TELL them that this wasn't a new song back then!!!
If you plan on selling it commercially, I'd recommend finding the composer or artist and asking for permission. Considering that they're not with big labels, they probably would let it slide. But some people are greedy so you never know. You could try and sample it and if they ever run into it you can handle it with them then. I've already made 2 beats sampling this track.
This a tribute for us Gen X'ers. So underground, you have to have been in it to look for it. Make me wanna put on a Kani hoody with some gangsta nikes n buck jump.
I remember hearing this on Q93 in New orleans. I wish I could get a list of the songs they played during this era of music. It's tough looking for songs like this. They used to do so many Saints songs adapted from hip hop songs too. Damn I wish I could get my hands on that stuff.
100% Classic. I still, 'til this day, listen to this (Drag Rap), "Armed Robbery" by 8Ball & MJG, "Balls and My Word" and "Scarface" by Geto Boys all the time.
I was born in 84 so I def dont remember when it came out. My cousin gave me a tape w/ this song on it when i was like 6 years old. I brought that shit to college (around 2002) and not a single person ever heard of it....they were all too busy listening to 50 Cent's piece of garbage CD. I turned about half the dorm on to it though, small victory i guess...
I've always wonder where that nigga got that inspector gadget shit from, first time I heard that I said this would be a raw ass theme song for inspector gadget
Tell me something I have been trying to find this song for the longest it starts off like" Woke up this morning, tears in my eyes, you had left me without a ...... thinking about you girl
You were right thank you, now can you tell me about the song that goes like this, "I need a weed let me light it, I'm bout to get excited, bitches on my dick, but baby just don't bite
The music in this song is the theme from dragnet from the 60's......watch?v=Hj-qhIGTXdU
