  • The orchestrations were done by contemporaries of Debussy - for the Suite Bergamasque they are by the conductor Gustave Gloez and Clair de Lune by Andre Caplet.

  • thank you for posting this - the images go so beautifully with the music.

  • So wonderful!Thanks for sharing!

  • Makes me think deeply about my life ...

... and makes me lost and sad.

  • i think it would sound a lot better if they had a euphonium and/or timpani for that phrase

  • i like the grandiose entrance to Prelude on the piano better

  • not to double post but this version orchestrated the infamous "misprint" at 8:14. (G# instead of natural)

could that mean that that measure is supposed to be played with the sharps?

  • where are all of these orchestrations coming from?

i didn't know how many there were!

has every piece he had ever written orchestrated?

  • @looney1023 I wish they were, but there is still much left. I happen to prefer Debussy's music orchestrated, so I have tried to find it as much as possible.

  • @looney1023 I've compared this to the orchestration by Hubert Mouton, and I believe this is it.

  • Do you happen to know who performed this version?

  • @SonicHedgehog123 San francisco Ballet Orchestra with conductor Emil de Cou. This is taken from Debussy: Rediscovered CD which is I believe the only orchestrated recording.

  • Beautiful! Thank you for the upload!
