Your videos illustrate superbly why cruises are for everyone, no matter their activity level. You seem to enjoy more the relaxation aspects of cruising, while others like my wife and me, even though we are in our 60's, want to get out to explore and stretch our legs. I can heartily recommend the Serenade cruise to Dominica, a fascinating island dominated by Rain Forests and exotic plants. The same cruise also goes to Curaco, home to the Hato Caves, which are by themselves, worth the trip.
The Adventure is part of the Voyager class of ship in the RCCL fleet. I have been on three of the voyager class ships, but not specifically the Adventure. What questions do you have, are they about itinerary, or the ship? Let me know and I will try to answer them for you.
@billwi ... It is about the ships themselves since both ships have similar itinery and go to my goal island of St. Lucia. Although Serenade also goes to Grenada! By looking at the interactive map, the Adventure of the seas looks like it has more to offer with the ice rink and royal promenade, but I was just wondering how big the differences are. I have never cruised before, so this will be my first time! We are going as a group of mixed ages.
@nyxy333First cruise...you mean your first of many...prepare to be hooked! The Adventure is a larger ship and will have more activity areas (such as the promenade and the ice rink) because it has more space. However, the Serenade has more glass and views of the ocean from everywhere on the ship. The Serenade feels less crowed. I feel the Serenade is a more elegant ship.
@billwi .... I forgot to ask ... is there a jogging track on either of these ships? With all that food need to ensure I don´t put on 10kg in week! lol
So we went on the Mariner of the Seas two weeks ago (3//7/2010) and we were googling videos about the ship and found yours....very cool. We are about to book a cruise on the Serenade of the Seas and we did research and found your videos again. We hope to go on the Allure or Oasis of the Seas, hope you will make some videos of those:) We're on our way to being diamond members just like you guys!
We like both the Mariner and the Serenade. In fact, the Serenade has become our favorite ship. The Oasis and the Allure are too big for me, so no videos from me about them anytime soon. Next up Alaska...watch for a video in about November 2010.
Very nicely done video. You and Rosie obviously cruise at a much higher level than the majority. Sounds like you never set foot in the main dining with the non-suite folks. Chops and Portofino are truly worthy of all the praise you gave them.
Thanks for this fantastic video. We re looking forward for our cruise in april2011....i think, i booked the right ship.
greetings from germany

@nyxy333 In a nut shell, since they both ships go where you want to go, pick one and have a great time, you can not go wrong.
You can pick the other ship, the next time you cruise...and you will cruise a next time!

@nyxy333 There is a jogging track on both ships, located on deck 12. I walk/run everyday and reward myself with a bid meal!!! LOL
