I think everyone who actually rides can agree that doug henry is a knarly as shit motherfucker, most riders after a crash like that quit...doug henry came back on an unheard of 4 stroke and kicked ass and kept riding pro till like 05 then started supermoto. He crashed again and nearly died and has to be in a wheelchair....AND HE STILL RIDES! thats true love for the sport right there. He is the definition of badass.

i was right there when doug hit this jump!he took out the wire strung over this jump ,my jaw hit the ground when i saw him launch off of the now famous henry hill!!!doug is one of the if not the toughest rider in motocross history !!!!!!!! this is a disrtict #7 ama motocross track and it will fffffff you up in a heartbeat!!!!!!

Doug was one of the riders i looked up to the most when i was growing up racing. Along with Damon Bradshaw and others. Doug didnt bail like a bitch on this jump (even if it was by mistake) He rode it out like a fucking BOSS

Don't blame Doug for the 4 stoke epedemic, Getting that done was a lot bigger than him persoanlly. The; EPA, AMA FIM, and the Japs all had this in mind, and they nearly all had different reasons for pushing the same thing; 4-storkes. Doug just got to play with the new toys. Many .orgs had a hand in the 4-stroke adjenda all for different reasons. I also agree, he was easily one of the fastest riders ever, a sort of tammed down "Magoo" at times.

I was there that day. Damon Bradshaw was trying to make a comeback that year and I saw Doug Henry hit that jump full throttle all the way in the powerband. That was Cooper mountain then and I think that might be why he went for it Guy Cooper used to do that and pick up positions in a hurry

I was at this race sitting across from Cooper Hill, and the one a year later when Doug broke both of his arms. His throttle stuck in the air on the double before Cooper Hill. He cased the landing with the throttle pinned and launched over the telephone wire that crosses the jump.

The man broke his back, both arms and then came back to win the whole shebang once he was healed up. His sack drags the ground sparking behind him, that's how big his balls are.

McGrath was the greatest of all-time, no doubt... but I hated his guts back then. He was SO arrogant and he ruined the sport by winning ALL THE TIME. The early '90's were the shit. Jeff Stanton, Damon Bradshaw and Jean Michel Bayle in a three-way duel for the crown. Now THAT was racing. Remember this crash too, Henry's throttle got stuck or something. Still hurts to watch that!
