how big is the whole thing? i heard its like the size of a poster but the box isnt that big..

It comes bent in half so it is twice the size of the box. I'd say it was about 3ft long and 1.5 wide. It is a lot of fun. Both my 6yr and 2yr old have fun with it. My son gets to draw a bit on it every night before he goes to bed.
