  • is the bell loud on these

  • cobus DID actually used the PST 5 cymbals when he was just starting and its fucking awesome, checkout the description in his old videos if you dont believe me.but im not sure though if it is a rock or a medium ride

  • Nice ride cymbal sounds really good

  • Paiste series really provides a great sounding cymbals for a cheaper price compared to others. wish I have this one.

  • haha!! just brought one of these today replacing my old sabien one they sound sweet =)

  • i have a 18' inch medium crash/ride if anyones interested. willing to let it go for $50AUS

  • This not a bad cymbal. It's Probably one of the best ride cymbals for the money. I recently got the 22" Rock ride, and it is really good. I was telling my friends about it, and showed them it, they said for $150 (which is what i payed it) That is a sick ride.

I did a sound for it. Check it out it's on my channel.

  • im getting it!! :D

  • This ride is fantastic cymbal! Also uses the drummer of Whitin Temptation!

  • fui

  • Im slowly replacing my entry level cymbals with pst5s, cant wait til i get this ride

  • trx!

  • are u selling it HOW MUCH IF U ARE ?

  • Hi-hats=zildjian

    crashes= your taste

    rides=paiste or sabian

    chinas=not zildjian! wuhans or paiste

    thats my opinion

    :)

  • @ToxicDrummer777 I'm Zildjian all the way!

  • @ToxicDrummer777 No, everything Paiste! :D :D

  • Cymbals are just like drums or guitars or anything else musical, they all sound different even if they are the same model. The best thing to do is buy what sounds good when you hear it. I heard a crash cymbal in Chicago in 1992 that I should have bought, I have never heard one like it since.

  • Cool story bro.

Yes, i agree but Paiste provides best cymbals samples ever.

  • But the thing is that no two cymbals will ever sound the same, even if it's the exact same model.

  • @Orasilth

Actually Sabian do the best for me but it never compares playing it urself specially since stick choices change things heaps

  • @Orasilth and it's the easiest site to browse.

  • @DrumsTenorsax in my opinion meinl are the best cymbals i just cant resist them

  • just bought my new drumkit today with the pst 5 set, and they sound great :D

  • That sounds like sabian pro sonix ride

  • ahhh, the pst5 days...

  • yup ive just gotten past them. Ive been through all the stages haha.

Beginner Paiste 402's (my username which i made ages ago)

    Intermediate PST5's

    Now Sabian AA's

    not lookin back :D

  • I bought this cymbal (it sounded great for in the shop) and was totally dysappointed, when bring it on my rehearsal. This cymbal killed me with its ringing and overtones and tape will not solve this problem, i've tried. No clean sound, only droning =( I return this to shop and replace on a paiste 802 ride (it was the same price by shop action on paiste cymbals) and now i'm happy)

  • I don't think this vid does much justice for this cymbal. I have one and it sound so much better than this when you have it set up with your drum set in fron of you. love it.

  • far too much sustain for my liking

  • Put some tape under it. It'll save you lots of money.

  • MOOOOOOOOONGEL!!!!

  • This ride sounds pretty cool in real life for the price... don't let distorted camcorder microphone recordings on youtube influence your opinion of instruments.

  • vic firth and paiste rule

  • are pst 5s any good?????????

  • They're good for someone, between pro and beginner ;) They're good cymbals though!

  • Actually it has a very greate sound, I've recorded with it, and in Studio sound with a lot of cut and Proyection..... It's the High Mid Serie, cheap but high quality

  • i agree .. if you hear this cymbal from 20 feet away it does sound really really good

  • i really hate this ride in real life but that's maybe because im a hard hitter.

  • magnificent!

  • aah! i just bought a PST5 Rock-HiHat. yesterday

  • i hav the PST 5 medium ride its great, very versitile.

  • siiick!

  • i <3 paiste lmao

  • when you get a good rhythm going on it you can hear this swirling type circulating sound. thats what makes it cool

  • Was it heavy cause i mount my ride vertical?

  • Not a dark pitch anywhere on these. I'd go with the 2002 myself if buying a Paiste. Learn about the different alloy in each and then make up your mind. It depends on what king of sound you want. I play Zildjian K, Istanbuls, and Masterwork because I like darker, warm, trashier sounding cymbals which are probably the complete opposite sound of cymbals like in this video.

  • I agree, but the Pst3's and pst5's are good value budget cymbals. It tends to be the lower end cymbals are brighter in pitch and get darker as they get higher end

  • paiste rude has a nice sound like that

  • yeah but some people aren't rich like you

  • @Robotdrummerzzk

this cymbal in its largets form is less than 150 bucks....thats dirt cheap for a cymbal. and if yo replace them one at a time instea dof splurging liek most drumers htink you have to do..."ohhh i need a new ride so now i have to replace everything"

Then you can have the best cymbal set up in the world for a lot less money.

  • Lol i find it funny how you brag about you owning expensive cymbals, but you don't have any videos of you drumming :P

  • PST5 isn't expensive! it's one of the cheap series

  • I never said they were :p i said the person bragging about owning zildjian custom K/A's was the one bragging not the guy who made the video :p

  • oh, sorry. i couldn't see that comment anymore.

  • ok no problem :) he was saying things like "why do you buy these when you can get amazing sounding cymbals like zildjian cuztoms A's what i own" ect ect

  • oaky... i understand...

i think, that PST5 sound great for the low price!

  • me too, i use medium hi-hats and a medium/thin crash,

  • possibly because these sound better than A and Z customs

  • it's just your opinion.

  • true. i just prefer paiste really

  • no way dude

  • meh. i think they do

  • yep. but for price like that its amazing!

  • which ride is better considering sound quality over price: the pst5 or the 2002 series, can any one tell me also how much is a "good deal" of any of those used so i dont get robbed please, i appreciate any help on this decition, thanks

  • The 2002 series has better sound quality.

  • Exact 2002 and giant beat !!!! her cymbal is horible

  • Ich have the full 2002 Serie, the Ride is the custim 20ride...

Nice Sound but nothing for heavy music...

  • The drummer of within temptation uses this ride in 20" or 22" version. So it's definitely worth buying!

  • Is it worth buying?

  • thinking of getting this cymbal should i

  • hey orasilth, im DEFINITELY not a started to drums but am very budgeted and cant get expensive cymbals and am looking for the best deal for the cheaper cymbals.

the PST5 rock set has been on my mind for a while, and was wondering if u think its a good $300+ dollars used.

    please reply, thanks alot

sounds really good for so cheap to me

  • Yeah ! Good choice, these are very good cymbals for little money ! $300 is a good price. Take them and enjoy !

  • im not a huge fan of paiste, ive owned reall low end crap.

    (paiste 101 brass 20" ride, 101 14" crash, and pst 3 13" hats)

    imo they all suck.

i personally am fond of the zbt/zxt zildjian series.

i own a 16" zbt crash, and absolutly love it for only paying 70$ for it.

ive had it for... close to 8 mounths now and it cracked in the last month.

but, instead of sounding like ass (after youve cleared all the metal from rubbing) it has an awesome shimmer with a bit of trash.

  • your best bet, is to go to a guitar center or similar and try out some cymbals.

the one an hour from me has a cymbal vault, and thats how i picked out my current set.

  • are they around the same price as pst5's??

  • @RisckyyyofUMW

Depends what music you wanna play. If you're going for lighter music (jazz for instance), forget about PST5. It sucks ass. The ride has some nasty nasty overtones and no clean wash, and the hats are, well, just awfull.

  • it sounds better in person...

  • sounds pretty neat, i like the clarity and the bell too

  • sounds way better than the zildjian zxt rock ride, I had one and upgraded to an a custom projection ride 21" it kicks ass, if u have the buck it's one of zildjian's best rides

  • i have the a custom projection ride 20". I fing it to be "more defined" than the 21" model.

  • I love this ride. I'm getting the whole pst5 rock set soon. Glad someone put this on youtube. You don't happen to know any page with video+sound testing of cymbals and drums?

  • the paiste, sabian, zildjian, meinl and alchemy websites all have sound clips on them.

the paiste site is the most accurate sounding I think.

  • this thing is fucking anoying

  • oh calm down it's just a ride for starters !

Info: I will change it soon for a Paiste 2oo2 Power Ride 20"

  • Jesus. I know that it's a starter, but my ears fucking bleed whenever i hear it

  • Seems you don't know what good cymbals sound like.

  • Again, train your ears man.

  • Excellent!

The 22" is much deeper and louder. It's great for loud music and the ping is good enough for other styles of mucis as well. The 5's are great cymbals.

  • i got mine in today. its amazing. thanks for the vid. without it i might not of bought the cymbal.

  • Ok great !

I'm happy you bought it ! It's a very good choice !! You'll be never deceived by Paiste !

But i think that its sucessor will be a very nice Paiste 2oo2 Power Ride 20"!

  • a little too washy i think. but definately a nice sound. I was playing it at guitar center and it sounded like it would make a good Crash/Ride

  • awesome
