Man! I'm running a D20 modern game (sort of like D&D only placed in the modern world). I had to figure the taxes on their incomes for their starting occupations & it gave me a mildly sick feeling when I saw how much people pay when they make even a little more than I do in the real world. One of the group started out as a medical doctor with 100k in student loan debt and he pays about 32 percent (fed plus social security) of his income in taxes. Then he gets to pay another 9 percent to spend it!

A 5% flat tax for all people, no deductions. Corporation tax rate set by the total amount of assets with a cap at 50% tax rate, with expenses deducted.
