Judging from the comments posted here, Barnaby Joyce sounds in some ways like the Australian equivalent of Ron Paul here in the U.S. Anyway, he's right - though I think it's anyone's guess how far away a potential U.S. default may be. Our national unfunded liabilities exceed $200,000 for every U.S. citizen; this just isn't sustainable. And this media blackout - wow. It's far from the first example of the press suppressing important information, but it's still shocking and disturbing.
