  • It is a very good association of Buffett with Hemmingway... if you get a chance read one Hemmingway's biographyies to get an insight to the man.

  • One of my favorite Buffett Tunes and the pictures of Papa friggin rock!!

  • to the person who commented, that hemingway, wrote one good book, you fuckin arrogant prick, the man was a genius n, lived his life the way to , good ,or bad he wantedgood ,or bad, n, he went out the way he wanted, what have you ever done in yer life , where you feel you can criticize ,...nothing but bitch, piss n, moan, about life , life was different then , it was n,t given to ya , ya earned it , arrobant prick.

  • @tedkadar you said it dude. I've never read Hemingway but the man was a genius. Some people are too fucking stupid to live. Just ignore them,

  • I arrived in So Florida in Jan 2005 from a hurricane storm, when the north was frozen, I stayed for 3 years and chase hail storm repair work sales in the spring & summer in different cities and go back every winter to So Florida!! wished I would of went 30 years ago!! wake up my friends and see life!!

  • Great Song

  • A curious blend, to be sure.

Jimmy understands the Empire of Crime, or, at best, he's an estitut observer.

Jesus walked away with his trash, carefully stashed, for another day.

Hemingway left, with his trash, carefully stashed in every library where people come to read.

Jimmy Buffett and Ernest Hemingway - not sure that works, yet an interesting essay - to be sure.

  • hemingway, fitzgerald, faulkner, london, poe, lowry, crane, bukowski, kerouac, what great era of real writers and real men, today writers are lame...they should start trink more:)

  • @DesertFoothills: nothing, I repeat nothing got tough for Hemingway, even dying.

  • I bet the Chief Parrothead read everyone of Hemingway's books. Music is

great and wonderful, but books are personal. You can talk about the movies

they made of Hemingway's books, but you cannot really share the book,

no matter what. When you read it, it's yours.

  • Very fine posting - as a fan of both Buffett and Hemingway it was a double pleasure. Many of the photos I had never seen. Especially liked the denouement with Hem kicking the can, and then that schoolboy smile. (3:03+)

  • nice

  • amen to that!!!!!

  • write someting you fools...don't die wih your song in you...don't worry, we're all standing on the shoulders of the past..just write what you know! we're all poets, realized or not.

  • @DesertFoothills Yea,, but Hemingway? He wrote one good book and when things got tough, killed himself.

  • @domcplnc - Pardon me for intruding; however, Hemingway most likely suffered from depression like his Father. His Father, a medical doctor from Oak Park, Illinois, DROVE all the way to Key West to see his son. As soon as he got back home, he shot himself. This haunted Hemingway for the rest of his life. His alcoholism, declining health, and numerous shock treatments for depression left him a shell of a man, unable to concentrate, unable to write.

  • Me too.

  • Probably my favorite Buffett tune...sing it to myself all the time!

  • GREAT Tribute..THANKS!

  • Fantastic! I love Hemingway. Check out my Hemingway page at my website, Key West Cantina Dot Com. (Click the Hemingway button at the top. If you want to read about my husband's experience as a Hemingway -Look-Alike Contest, click the Blog link)

  • Honey do..I dew declare.. Oh the intsections of my brain! Steel band in the distance and their music floats across the bay. Alone on a midnight passage

I can count the falling stars..While the southern cross and the satellites

They remind me of where we are.
