Sure, you can say 'kirk Hammet is a really talented guitarist' but you can't really say 'This art is better than this art' which is all music is, art. You don't have to be the most talented person in the world to make something that someone considers beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If I were you I would've mentioned how Lil Wayne plays metal on his own guitar for a lot of his rap beats and how all a hip hop beat is made with is 4/16th bass ratio with a key board melody but dont get me wrong when you get into mainstream pop/rap their music is created by geniuses were simplicity is their touch but they aren't the artists just composers who own the industry and write out everything they do. Kirk Hammet isn't bad, but his sound mostly consists of fast playing of pentatonic and *insert wah*. Lots of people can do that, and a little bit of harmonic major/minor thrown in for flavour. Easily replicated, and easily done.
