You don't think De Lucia and Di Meola come across as more fiery and intense than McLaughlin? To me he seems much more serene. Like flowing water while De Lucia and Di Meola are like fire or volcanoes.

@NolitaDenise it seems like this on this video, because the volume of johns guitar was extremely low compared to the other two. And al doesn't play nylon strings.

@PianoCussoSFHA ----- q al di meola o john no usen los dedos p puntear no significa q sean malos con la viola, al contrario, paco es el mejor guitarrista del mundo pero no te olvides q desde el año 76 él aprendio a improvisar con lo q le enseñaba john mcaughlin, por ahi no lo sabias, mira el documental de paco y ahi te vas a enterar, no hablemos mal si no sabemos,y no lo hace mejor o peor por tocar sin pua, son técnicas q uno utiliza al aprender a ejecutar la guitarra, ópta por usar pua o no...

@Zappa4life42593 Al di Meola's style cannot be over looked, either. I would rather see di Meola live that McLaughlin. McLaughlin was just plain fast when I saw him. Al had that killer flamenco style that just kills and he is fast!

Paco is the only one I have not seen live yet. Who knows, I could change my mind. Stanley Clarke and Al di Meola is a sight to behold...
