Never mind about fuel consumption when you decided on high-performance cars like this, mind you it costs US$2/liter here in HK. My Boxster has its new owner now, I'm currently driving a Alfa 156 GTA.
Don't think, just buy. It's perfectly balanced in every aspect. Gear ratio will compensate the smaller displacement so don't worry about the performance data on paper. It'll blow away an E36 M3 all the way to the red line in third gear at traffic lights start, guarantee. Cornering is like gliding on rails. ECU remap is recommended, by specialized German tuning companies such as Gemballa though.

I don't know and I don't really care about the hp. It was chipped by a German tuner, exhaust replaced from manifold to the end. It has the record of blowing a 98 BMW M3 SMG away at a stoplights start all the way by almost 4-6 car's length.

With propper handling setup, and overall maintenance this car is surprising on a twisty road !
