    Brian Kolfage Sr

  • sucks. hopefully he stays positive.

  • Amazing.

    What exactly happened to him?

  • He was walking out of his tent and was bombed.

  • I'm an Air Force surgical tech and was in the OR with him the day he was injured in Iraq. From what I saw that day to what I saw today on this video is truly remarkable! Just proves what grit and determination can do for you.

  • shows the determination of one SF member. I am honored to be in the same brotherhood as he is. He is one hell of a Man.

  • Our blessings are with you, from your fellow SF member.

  • I was on Balad that day. We took a serious bombardment of mortars and SrA Kolfage had just got there. One of the Airman that i worked with and another SF airman came out and found Brian. It really hit home for all of us maintainers what the word sacrifice meant. Initially we were told he didn't make it. Later we launched the medivac out and were informed he made it. I have never forgotten his name nor forgotten that day. I am proud to have served with such an inspirational Airman.

  • Thank you for your service! On 11 Sep 04 we responded to a tragic incident at a tent in Iraq. I was part of the 332nd CASF at Balad Air Base the 1st medical responders on the scene that rushed SrA Kolfage to the hospital. We also loaded him on the plane to Germany. Helping SrA Kolfage changed my life forever. I've always wondered what happen to SrA Kolfage and how his recovery has been. Seeing his courage is inspiring. This video has touched me in a way that can't be explained. God Bless!

  • Two things will never change: The Pride in our Flag & the Heart of the American Military! Amazing story & an inspiration to all.

  • Brian is Robo Cop and the Bionic Man.

  • What a true American Hero! My 4 & 7 year old boys think that Senior Airman Kolfage is totally AWESOME!!!!

  • Brian was under the Army's command. He volunteered to go back to Iraq for a second time.

  • Watching this brought tears to my eyes. This transition must have been devastating to him and his family, but he does have his life and he looks so happy and is doing so well. I'm in AWE!!! A friend who is very near and dear to my heart just left a few weeks ago for a one year in Iraq. I worry about him constantly. I salute you, Brian, and your family for the sacrifice you've made. My your family always be blessed!

  • T%his is scary. My son is a SNA SF and just volunteered for 365 in Iraq.

  • Brian, definitely an inspiration to the rest of us Airman, we will never faulter, and never fail... you lead the way!... Thank you! DEFENDERS!

  • thanks for being so brave and fighting for our country.

  • THANK YOU I will never forget

  • You know, sometimes soldiers and marines joke about airmen. I'm sure you've heard the remarks, "Chairborne Rangers," "Geek Squad," etc. You are a living example that it doesn't matter how you serve your country; when you sign that contract and raise your right hand, you are putting yourself in harm's way to protect our nation regardless of your branch of service.

Thank you for your service and your sacrifice, Airman Kolfage.

  • As an FYI: Sra Kolfage was actually performing an ILO (In Lieu Of) mission. He was assigned to the 125th MP Battalion, working for the U.S. Army.

  • Defensor Fortis - Security Forces

Thank you SrA Kolfage, your legacy will never be forgotten.

    Defend until the end...

  • I wish I could put to words how that video made me feel... As someone who is learning to walk again after breaking both my legs in a motorcycle accident I still can't say I know how you feel, but I can say you make me proud to be an Airman, and an American.

You have shown the strength of 10 men. You are indeed a Hero.

Joe G - Senior Airman, USAF

  • thank you brain and god bless!

  • Brian, you are an amazing person and an inspiration to all you see this video. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made for our country! May God continue to do great and mighty things in your life!!

  • Oh my God...

That boy lost both his legs and his right hand...that truly does suck...but I'm very thankful that he's able to walk and smile again...it's very inspiring.

War is a terrible thing but at the same time, nothing is more inspiring for me than stories such as these

    Thank you, Brian *salutes*

In just three weeks, I go to Ft Benning, Georgia for training...starting off small, in the Army Reserves but eventually going far into the military. It'd be cool to meet this guy one day.

  • Not a boy, a Senior Airman.

  • Right right...my apologies

But he just looks young (as a lot of soldiers do being they're in tip top shape!)

  • Airman, not soldier.

  • Brian -

Thank You For Not Giving Up. Please Go On To Inspire Other Service Members Who Are Dealing With Similar Obstacles In Thier Own Lives. You Are A True Hero In My Eyes.

    -L

  • Incredible! Thank you, Brian - and all serviceman who gave so much for the rest of America and all who love freedom! We owe you a debt of thanks and gratitude. It's clear nothing is going to stop you - we need that kind of courage today. You are a great example of the FINEST TRADITIONS of the USAF. Enjoy life!
