(BTW if you spend more that 20 bucks let alone 6,000 for a kids toy your nuts) Yet as a pet for shut ins etc (which it was first made for) its very touching. KUDOS to the ones involved making it.

@pjane64 While I do agree with you that we should be using real animals that need homes (I've had 3 shelter dogs myself), I have to make the argument that sometimes, for these purposes at least, real animals are sometimes not the best option. For example, people with dementia or other conditions may not be able to feed, clean up after, or otherwise take care of a real animal. Also, hospital staff may not be able to take care of the animals either, or animals aren't able to be in such places.

yeah, pretty cute... we use those at baby seal clubbing school, not as much fun to bludgeon with a club as the real thing but it's a close second... one problim they have is that they need to quiver a little more like the real thing... seems to mechanical and of course there's no blood.

they need to make the movements a little more smooth to make it more realistic and it needs several different noises like 100 seal noise variations . and it should follow the movement patterns of real seals in relation to touch.

To make this really work well it requires interaction and testing on baby seals.

As a Canadian I object to seals in hospitals, at least without clubs to deal with them. Seals! They may crawl about on land, but did you know they 'go' in the ocean? The whole is Atlantic is just one big Toilet to them!
