@ccd101There has been several monachs in British History that have been elected. Starting with Alfred the Great. In the 1680s, after realising the mistake they had made with ASKING James of Scotland to take the throne, the people of England asked William of Orange to sit as Monach on a temp basis while sorting out the country after James' tyranny. That is what you will find in the history books as the Glorious Revolution. Liz wasn't, am not a fan, but she appears to be the lesser of 2 evils atm!

@ccd101 The english royal family is probably behind this whole thing. After they took over China I think they gave up on overt control of nations. Maybe it was as early as the American revolution or a little after, maybe 1820 or after the Civil war? After all, if america was overtly controlled by the English monarchs during the 20th century, would any of the wars been any different? America was in all the same wars as Canada, a british state.

The protect of civil liberties by EU-law is much better than by UK-law and not subject to majority decisions in parliament.
