  • I HAVE THE SAME BIOS YOU HAVE BUT I DONT HAVE THE CPU CONFIGURATION OPTION IN IT

  • Hello friend, I have a problem when unlocking the 4 cores, play some games for a while or use the browser and while he branded me all the pc and I have to reboot. have any solution?. I have a gigabyte mother.

  • Man you just told me how to reduce the price of my future pc.

    Many thanks.

  • hi how do unlock in a MSI bios thanks

  • Name of the song, please?

  • Hello! I followed all the steps in this video (except for the 'do not do this part ;)) and when the bios reboots, it says Phenom II x4 B55, but then, when starting Windows, it freezes and I get a BSOD.

Is there anyway I can get my unlocked Phenom working?

    Hans.

  • @hansklaverkut Sounds like you cannot Unlock. some processors unlock and some do not. its just luck and a gamble.

  • 0:56 Triforce! :D

  • when i unlock the 4 cores the windows dosnt star

  • I have no problem with a 400w power supply running 4 cores overclocked to 3.8ghz and a GTS 450. Don't see how you guys are having trouble with 500W+ power supplies.

  • I tried all that you did in this video, but when I'm restarting my computer, a message appears "Enabling Unleashing mdoe has failed" What should I do? Plz, I really need help, forums do not talk about it...

  • @JulianEdwardLevin It used to happen to me too, but then I changed PSU a it runs fine. You should try to unclock only three cores.

  • @SC00TY14 Even with 3 cores activated, it is still not working. I doubt it depends of the PSU but more of te calibration and the cpu's volt whichI bet I can't match at all...

  • @SC00TY14 how many watts psu it requires??

  • @PeikkoKuningas95 I don´t know. I had 450w eurocase and it worked well

  • @SC00TY14 ok so no need to upgrade from my 500w. does it run on 32bit vista and how much is the performance increase? :o

  • @PeikkoKuningas95

    125 W / h

  • @JulianEdwardLevin same i have problem

  • this mean a power power smps

  • @JulianEdwardLevin YOu should try at least a 500W PSU, a quad core AMD CPU requires at least 95-125W.

  • i aredy unlock my phenom ll X2 555 to 4 core and it have very good perfomance wit my mother bord 880gma-ud2h and my power supply 550 wat. The temperatures and th sistem is stable.

  • ME ANDUVO DE 10 MEJORO PARA LOS JUEGOS UNA PREGUNTA COMO PUEDO AUMENTAR MAS LOS 3.2 MHZ DE MODO SEGURO XQ SI AGO CON CATALAXI SE ME SUELE REINICIAR LA PC

  • For some reason I cannot unlock my cpu core 3.

my core 0, 1, and 2 work. but core 3 work get on. Every time i switch it on, it restarts and it shows 3 cores activated.

I have an asus motherboard, and 500w power supply.

  • @taejamhaha You can see it at 2:08

  • @SC00TY14 thank you men. but what I want are the chipsets in the motherboard

  • @taejamhaha You didn't show what chipsets your motherboard have!

    BULLCRAP!

    USELESS!

    -------------

CHIPSETS YOUR MOBO HAVE! THAT"S WHAT I'm AFTER!

  • @taejamhaha it says in massive letters at 2:07

  • will this work on a motherboard that only supports up to 95w or do i need one with a higher watt support (like 125w) ?

  • Can I do this with AMD Phenom II x2 560 BE 3.3GHz with stock fan? Thanks.

  • I opened 1 core above normal with the same phenom II x2 555 black edition using gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H

At the beginning it doesn't work (4 cores) at the same time .. so that i disabled core1 but let core0 , core2 and core3 enabled

why the fourth core doesn't work , although CPUID show that my processor's max TDP is 160 W ???

(sorry for this bad english cause i'm from egypt)

  • i have prop i do every thing right then nothing happen :(

  • Whats the Worst Thing That Could Happen If I Failed In Unlocking It ???

  • @Themidozable10 Windows will not load. But you will get into the BIOS anyway and you can use the default settings.

  • @SC00TY14 how do i unlock 4th core on my hp dv6 laptop with amd phenom 2 x3 processor. im a noob please explain in detail :)

  • @shreyans94 You can not unlock or overclock on a laptop. The BIOS settings are locked so you can't mess with them. so your SOL

  • @Themidozable10 tell me if u get to know

  • sorry nooby question what does unlocking do basicly

  • @JOZZAZ1232 your phenom has actually 4 core in which 2 are disabled so you can unlock the locked cores

  • @shreyans94 Ok sweet thanks :) will it be stable with the fan that comes with it ??

  • @JOZZAZ1232 it depends on your fan

  • i've unlocked mine.. on cpuz it did say phenom II x4 b55, but it says cores=2, thread =2... =_=" did i messed up anywhere else?

  • hey man, will this work on a regular non black edition phenom ii x2 555?

  • do you need an aftermarket heatsink fan if you do this?

  • When i unlock it says its running at 160W, is that normal because its double its dual core wattage but it does seem very big

  • lol my MB is like the ddr3 and am3 version of yours. its the asus m4a88t-m/usb3

  • wich bois update did you use?

  • I got same MOB but its LT version. All you do is hit 4 during green boot screen to unlock the cores. I successfully unlocked 555 and lost core temps too.

  • how to overclock it to 3.6??

  • to technially, i can pay for a dual core and turn it into a quad core?

(ie phenom II X2 can become an X4??)

  • @stealthman46 exactly and at newegg its only 88 BUCKS! it saved me alot of money

  • @AzzoFresh420 thats great, thanks a BUNCH. just saved me around $50.00 (maybe more)

  • @stealthman46 yea people always under estimate this processor but if you unlock it becomes a beast but if you are planning on overclocking and unlocking the cores you should get an aftermarket cooler definetly

  • @AzzoFresh420 yea i do plan on overclocking it, once i have it all (and figure out how to do that) also, when i over clock it, do i need the overclocked RAM or what?

  • @stealthman46 i personally never overclocked my ram but its what ever your mobo can handle is the fastest it can take. is:my mobo can only take 1333mhz of ram so i got a 1333mhz 2gb stick of ram. hope it helps and if you have anymore questions just message me

  • @AzzoFresh420 great, thanks for all your help and ill be sure to message you about any problems!

  • @stealthman46 it will be my pleasure help lend someone a hand

  • hello i have a general question about this and i not to familiar with oc but i have a 480watt psu and a 5670 do you think if i oc it it will be stable enough and my psu would satisfy the cpu?

  • @AzzoFresh420 Hey there I have had a little first hand experience with this.

I had a 480 Watt PSU and a x2 unlocked to x4 with a HD 4850(weaker than yours, prolly draws less power too.)

for me the 480 actually couldn't even power the CPU unlocked and the 4850 when under max loads. normally you might not notice this under light/medium load(I didn't), but download furmark and prime95 and stress test both your Gcard and the CPU under max power to see. (cont next post)

  • @AzzoFresh420 If it shuts off on you after a few seconds you def need to get a new PSU or step down to an x3 or x2 in the processor through BIOS.

I personally got a 600W OCZ PSU afterwards; works great with all four cores and my grapics card running stress tests simultaneously.

  • @dewittgarry well how you got the value of the cores at 0% should i do that when i unlock it to tri core?

  • @AzzoFresh420 I have no idea what stuff he was modifying there, on my MSI 880GM -E41 I just enabled "core unlocker" or something and set it to auto. If you don't see any sort of box or option for it in your BIOS then don't bother trying to change it imo(if it works).

do the FurMark + prime95 synchronized stress test first to see if you're OK with your PSU, my 480W was a really shit brand so you may be ok.

  • @dewittgarry ha i have a shitty psu its from logysis i got it with my computer case so i tought why not save money and thx for the tips no one is ever nice anymore on youtube when i ask questions

  • @AzzoFresh420 ...The logisys mid ATX w/ 480W PSU?

...cause that's the one I had lol.

  • @dewittgarry yea! is it red and has a clear side panel? with a case fan that has a blue led light?

  • @AzzoFresh420 Nah mine's black, same casefan though.

overall I don't think it's that bad for its price(it was like 40$). The reviews I found on newegg.com suggested that the PSU is actually only rated for around ~330W continuous so that would explain it sucking hard.

  • @dewittgarry yea i bought it at newegg for 45 bucks not bad though but i was considering buying a new psu and i literally just bought a brand new gaming setup from there for only like 300 bucks it was worth it. did you buy a new psu

  • @AzzoFresh420 Yeah I ended up getting a 600W OC-Z that was on sale @ $50.00. You could prolly run that setup fine with a 500W without any problems, only reason I grabbed the 600W was the sale and I can upgrade it a lil'.

  • @dewittgarry thx dude you helped me alot!

  • @AzzoFresh420 You're welcome, was my pleasure.

  • what psu ( watts) needed after overlocking

  • hi there mate.. I have this processor a while now.. but I only managed to unlock only the 3rd core.. its because if I unlock all 4 cores, I cant log in to windows. It freezes at windows start-up screen.. is there another way to unlock the 4th core and make it stable ? thanks a bunch.. and have a pleasant day.. :)

  • I am buying this Biostar A880GU3 AMD 880G Socket AM3 Motherboard with Phenom II x2 555 Black Edition for 195.99 I will need to pay off 10 bucks after I buy it but,THANK you for making this video,I have a GT 220 gfx card,Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz CPU at the moment,so I need to purchase this and the motherboard I had posted.

  • i also have this cpu with all 4 cores open, but my computer takes forever to load up takes atleast 5 mins to get to my desktop it runs fine after that, i dont know if this is down to the cpus stability or not my score for the cpu is currently at 7.3 not overclocked in anyway my question is will my computer become more stable and effecent if i turn my multiplyer of auto and have it a set speed, as i have notice it keep going from 4x to 10.5x when my machine is running?

  • i unlocked it but had to disable one of the cores due to boot issues. running on 3 cores at 3.6ghz stable and 0.4 better windows score than original no oc :) now its 7.0 instead of 6.6

  • Is it possible to unlock not BE phenom ii x2 555?

  • If you unlock 4 cores, you can´t see core temperatures but can you still see your general cpu temperature? thanks in advance

  • @Miguelb772 Yes, you can´t see core temperatures but can you still see your general cpu temperature...

  • I have a ECS 890GXM-AU (V2.0) With Last BIOS avaible, When I change Core Unlock on the BIOS to Enabled and save the settings, NOTHING HAPPENS. Can someone please help me ? The CPU is Phenom II X2 555BE

  • i have a M4N68T-M-LE-V2 with this processor and i cannot for the life of me find the option to unlock cores, i tried it in the past using the asus core unlocker option but my computer just failed to boot, i really wanna get this done so can someone please message me letting me know how to do this with the motherboard i have?

  • Is this CPU worth getting? Did you buy it with the intention of Unlocking the dormant 2 cores? Is there a high probability or a successful unlock if done right, with a good unlocking capable motherboard? I ask because I'm going to build my first build and I don't want to be left with a bum x2 555.

  • Is unlocking a dual core as good as a straight up quad? What i mean is, in comparison are they equal?

  • benq monitor :D

  • i have recently brought phenom x2 555 be and asusm4a88t iamnot able to unlock 4 cores if i did windows isnt starting its showing boot menu and restarting and help??

  • some people say that not all 555 and/or 550 is able to unlock all cores, and i was like, wtf? have you recently updated ur mobo?

  • my BIOS doesn't have these options :(

  • Why my PC won't boot on 4 cores when I overclock it to 3.6 GHz? help? it boots on 4 cores in 3.2 GHz but when I change multiplier to x18 from x16 it won't boot. there appears an error on booting....?

  • @FinAlcohollicA Is your power supply strong enough? if yes try increase voltages...

  • @SC00TY14 Well, my PSU is 620W and I have increased voltage to +0.125V....

  • @SC00TY14 not just power supply man, a friend of mine had the same issue. he unlocked the 3rd and 4th core then tried overclocking and it wouldnt boot even with stable temps

  • @FinAlcohollicA voltage increase at least .250 V

maybe, that unlocked core isn't stable in that frequency.

  • could you show us some benchmark results? I'm interested if it has double power after unlocking or a bit less

also: mb: asus M4A77T cpu: phenom 555 be (i'm planning to buy) opinions?

  • what is the risk taken?

  • @superjermi If the CPU is stable, there is no risk...(Test stability with program prime95)

  • What's the name of that cool resources gadget?

Oh... and I like ur vid :)

  • @Zincofrakh "Computer status"

  • is it that safe to do it on own ? dosnt the motherboard heat up ?>

  • @dickcharles23 You must test stability with program prime95 and if everything will be ok, it´s safe. Watch motherboard temperature with program Speed fan. If your system is unstable or cpu temperature is too high (60°C+), it can damage your pc.

  • is it that safe to do it on own ?

  • in what sense it helps ?

  • @dickcharles23 It makes your PC faster
