See, he understands what the Christian faith is all about. It's not simply a Sunday check-list where you cross off your "christian" doings or a gathering of people who meet weekly at Church on Sunday to compare clothing. It's about something much more profound and meaningful than church and religion alone can define, it's about faith and a relationship with Jesus. I heard Mr. Ramsden speak in person once, he said, "the role of a Christian is not to get to Heaven, but to God." Thank you, Mike.
Call it copy-paste if you like, but it works. You cannot prove there isn't a teapot orbiting the Sun, the same way you cannot prove there isn't a deity that controls all events in our universe. Doesn't mean that there is a teapot orbiting the sun, just like it doesn't mean there is a deity that controls everything. Not hard to understand.
Give me the 'correct' context of faith which I can attack then.
Being born in a Christian family is the reason why, for the most part. If you were born to Muslim parents in Saudia Arabia, your conditioning would have proceeded accordingly. This is why, when you see a map of world religions, it's (surprise!) geographical, cultural, it's how you were brought up.
@entwood the speaker of this video was raised in a muslim country, and his co-worker Ravi was born to a hindu brahmin family in india, God worked in both there lives, despite geographic barrigers or cultural upbringing, and this very topic is one that Ravi has spoken about in a recent adress on his radio show.
@maineEack Point taken. Thank you and fair enough. The fact remains that the overwhelming reason a person will identify as a Christian is because they have been born into a Christian family in a predominately Christian culture. Same goes for other religions. I dispute that God works in anyone's life. I prefer to call it embracing a delusion.
@entwood Not true. I have met countless people that grow up in a atheist home, and then become Christian. There family mocks them and might even kick them out (harsh, I know, but it has happened) but they do not give up there new found faith. So, yes, there are a lot of people that call themselves a Christian because they grew up in a Christian home, but that doesn't make you a Christian.

I was very priviledged to speak with Michael earliar this year. A month before I met him I offered my first prayer to God [was agnostic at the time] that He would tell me in all of this mess what the truth is. I received a number of signs, which I deeply treasure, but it was very important for me that I got to speak with Him, God truly gave him the right words. I'd love to meet him again one day to thank him, but then I've already thanked Him who deserves the praise.
You know I just realized that even though You tube which has some of the most angry atheists and skeptics, that God can work through it. God does indeed work in mysterious ways.
@BassP86 That quote isn't doing you any favours. What Kai is talking about there is the absolute certainty of some religious believers who cannot be swayed by evidence or reason. It hardly backs up your point about logic, suggesting the complete opposite, that religious people have no capability for logic since they have a complete ignorance of any evidence or factual information.
Ironically, you're forgetting the last part of the quote. "The cause may still very well be that God exists." It doesn't sound like you're really reading Nielsen's work. No offense.
Religious people have no capability for logic? Stereotype, without a doubt.
@BassP86 Nope, that last part refers to the 'Teapot' scenario, as phrased by Dawkins but I can't remember who originally came up with the idea. You've probably heard of it, that a teapot could be orbiting the Sun and we would have no way of disproving it, but that doesn't mean we must come to the conclusion that the orbiting teapot is probable, or even remotely possible. Logic is a word that has become corrupted by rhetoric religious speakers, I would prefer to use the term 'reason'.
Ah, the old copy-paste teapot argument. The reason I don't believe there is a teapot orbiting around the Sun, is NOT because of a lack of evidence, but because there is evidence AGAINST such a claim, the same way that I am not an amoeba or a tree.
Secondly, if you're going to refute the notion of faith, then you have to take it in it's CORRECT context, according to the religion in question, or else you're attacking strawmen.
It should be on utube. where else can we talk openly. I can't be damned any longer. Jesus has "un-damned" me because I decided to accept His gift of salvation. I am redeemed. Jesus Is Lord
I really liked your video and your channel. If you need any help getting this video or channel exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. God Bless!
It's an interesting question He points out in this videopost. Why are you a Christian? it also challenges me as a Believer in Christ. This is the reason why we must remember the words of Jesus: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." - John 17:3. God Bless to Everyone.
The Passage that Michael Ramsden is preaching about comes from 1st Peter 3: 15-16;
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

Why are you a Buddhist? Buddha. Why are you a Muslim? Mohammed. Why are you an Atheist? Logic.

@CaptainMacNasty
Atheism says nothing about logic, nor is logic exclusive to an atheist perspective.
Kai Nielsen a Canadian atheist said, "To prove that all the arguments for God's existence fail is not enough."
