How do you attach a character mesh to the yellow skeleton in motion builder? I know how to stream it live, but I'm having issues connecting a character mesh to the skeleton?
@Jocken75 do you have everything set up? the kinect has to be plugged in with all the drivers installed. The actinia software is pretty much the last thing to be used. All you do is open the exe that has 3ds max in the name (there should be 3 exes to choose from) and once that is open you calibrate yourself (that T pose with elbows pointed up) once you are calibrated it will record 1000 frames and then it will stop and export the bvh for you, have fun!
That's exactly what I want to do! But would hacking a kinect also be able to tweak it's settings? Because my room is pretty small and I live in a apartment so......
@Snowyjoe66 I'm not sure if hacking it would help, I think it's the camera lens that makes it require so much room but again i'm not too sure. Ya I also redid this in a larger area and the results were MUCH better so you need all the space you can get I pretty much affixed this to my wall the first time so pretty much anything you can do to get more space should work.
@DJDeathflea I took the XML files found in the guide at the asimmittal site. I'm not sure how much they were edited but I know a very important step is to enter the "key" when installing OpenNI, the key is actually found on their site and it should be 0KOIk2JeIBYClPWVnMoRKn5cdY4=

@FameAvenue I didn't use motionbuilder, although I did try and found it complicated so I just imported directly into 3ds max
