This is the most incredible version of this song, but i have no idea where to buy this live version from. South Africa is free, now we must free Palestine!
@LMAliRN Way to bring the taint :( No comparison at all between the two situations - and please notice that freedom has NOT brought justice, peace, or progress to South Africa yet. If you TRULY care for Africa, then you know how much work there is to do still, friend. Finish the job before patting self on back and moving on to next great plan.
I was introduced to Graceland album and these artist in Hannibal, Missouri in 1988 - 1989 by Glen Oliver Thanks Glen I have been moved to my morrow ever since........
I love this song so much. Glad I ran into it, what a revelation this has been for me. Awesome blend of instruments and a great South African voice/character.
Mama Afrika, thank you for the undying gift of yourself and your voice. Although your activism cost you so much, you continued to give. Your voice has been so powerful that no government nor record company could silence it. Even in death, when the powers that be held your funeral at an unpopular venue during working hours so that those you championed could not come to you, the world responded. You left us truth and love and we return them to you.

WE ONLY FORGIVE THOSE WHO HAVE AND CAN CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.
THE MUST PROVE CHANGE BY TRUE REPARATIONS.
THESE WERE FORCED OUT OF SOUTH AFRICAN POWER YET THEY STILL CAUSE TROUBLE THERE AND ALL OVER THE BLACK WORLD.
BLACKS ARE TOO QUICK TO FORGIVE NO!!!

That was fantastic.
For me and many of my friends here in Okinawa, Miriam Makeba remains a symbol of hope for everyone who stands up against war and colonial occupation.
I want to sing about and celebrate her wonderful influence.
