  • 'Rufus' Buddy Greene, of Gaither Homecoming fame on harmonica ... a bonified MONSTER in his own right.

  • dang this is groovy. i thought I hated country (don't hate something til you know it is the lesson here) til I found this stuff. Just funky and radical.

  • I think the fiddle player is David BLACKMON.

  • Would it be accurate to call this a country rap song? :)

  • @mikerickson01 lol :)

  • Brilliant!!

  • That is Bob Patin on piano....Don't know about fiddle. Steve Bryant on bass

  • Too fast!

  • Hence, they called him "The Wild Man".........

  • Is that Ray Stevens on piano - and Buddy Green on harmonica ? - - who is the fiddle player ?

  • fantastic , flipante

  • i like this very much...

  • ANybody know who the fiddler is?

  • Wow..a disco like version of "Sugarfoot Rag." Now I've seen everything (actually Joe Maphis & Merle Travis did a disco version of "The Irish Washerwoman" on the "Country Guitar thunder" album). Jerry Reed was awesome! He is sorely missed!

  • disco like version?

  • 4/4 hi-hat ...bass...Country singers, in the 70's, would do that as a novelty (not seriously though).

  • @MKrock0 this was my old profile ^^

  • This guy should be 10 times more famous than Elvis. Just going video to video...what a talent, what a ride.

  • Well, if country music radio programming ever finds its creative courage Jerry Reed may well be. Until then it's YouTube and non-commercial radio or alternative to the rescue.

  • I agree.

  • @hunchdrunk I'd certainly agree...but, then again, there are also a lot of guitarists and other musical artists other than Reed who should be far more famous than Elvis. Tommy Emmanuel, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Guy and the list goes on and on!

  • @hunchdrunk Could of cut Elvis's teeth with his geetar alone.

  • Magic son!

I saw Reed do this live in Douglasville Ga., many years ago.

Not bad for a Brit, eh?

  • Jerry may have been the only person to know the words to this, and the only one to pull off a country rap like this.... well, now we know the words too.

  • I just found out Jerry died...man I am bummed out! I learned so much listening to him growing up. Georgia on my mind...great guitar lines...AMOS MOSES...so many great guitar tunes.

Rest in Peace Mr Reed and thank you for showing us all better ways to play guitar.

  • Imagine the Tele jams in Heaven now: Jerry Reed, Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan, and you know they would just love to have Albert Collins sit in

  • Galbraith4570: Don't forget Chet Atkins, though I've only seen him with a Tele once. In fact, I was a video with Atkins and Reed both using Teles.

  • Galbraith4570: I meant to say, "I was a video..." not, "I was a video." Sorry bout that!

  • he was one of the great country singer ever to sing and star in movies

  • Rest in Peace Jerry! You will be missed!

  • Jerry kicks azz!!!!!!!

  • my son and I dearly LOVE this song....

  • Get his album with Chet !!!!!!!!!!!

  • jerry reed rules and this song is the best
