Tasers are not to replace guns. If a person has a gun and the cop tries a taser, what if he misses? He's screwed. Gun vs Gun is how it always should be. I think tasers should only be used for someone who is squaring off with police to fight them or attacking someone else. The people who have made tasers have not be honest with the police. We can't blame the police for what taser makers have told everyone.
look dude taser been marking this as less lethal for a couple years now.they have many doctors and lawyers and so on that researched the same thing with different results with independent testing.about heart problems theres a video of a pig being taser with the chest open and the heart is functioning normally.taser effects the skeleton muscles not cardiovascular muscle, and people have died due to pepper spay look up some of the stuff up and find out why cops go with taser more than other stuff.
yeah ithink that tasers can help save lives and not at the same time becuase say the person does have ah gun the cop could just hit him with the taser intstead of hiting him with ah gun and also it could help people who aren't in the fight in case well what if the bullte misises and hits someome else far away? that wouldnt be good but also cops may be using the taser rongly also becuase some are tazing young children in schools and well you can alll see why hat'd be prety bad....
I agree. Tasers were a great idea when used in place of guns, and they have saved a lot of lives, when recognized as LESS-THAN-lethal force.
The problem begins when they are marketed as NON-lethal and the police start to use them in non-dangerous situations for the convenience of the officers at the risk of the life of the suspect.
listen lethality of a current as described is the current across your heart not the current on your probe or object or what not. you need 100 milliampheres across your heart which is hard to get from a taser because current is greatly reduced when it hits the human body.
Wrong. Current is dependent on the resistance of the load. There is nothing for the current to be "greatly reduced" from because before it "hits the human body" there is no current. Only voltage. The 133 mA delivered by a taser is what is actually going through your body.
Because taser probes pierce the skin, they make direct contact with the blood, which is high in iron and more conductive than skin. Since current is constant across a difference in potential, the heart IS subject to 133mA
Secondly, how is it that all these people that have tasers tested on them don't die? Something else is going on.

I thought that it was the wattage in electricity that was dangerous more than the voltage.
I dunno, I still think tasers are an effective tool used for self defence, myself. I just think that if misused then yeah that's when tasers are bad.
