MISFITS THAT SOME HOW FIT? I worked for Southern then merged with North Central to become REPUBLIC. Honesty folks it was party time, big time! Disco, Buffet days All those BIG paydays from overtime, double time and TRIPLE TIME! (holiday pay w double) Mostly a 5-6 hour wait for the nightcrew at MIA for the last 2 flights. Called Overnights. CHA CHING late inbound overnights paid us great, and we got a 5 to 8 hour break between last flight on shift. Use to go home and return to park & unload'em.
Great video - I wonder what happened to those huge DC-9 and 727 models on Bud Sweet's desk and end table. :-) Would kill to have those in my collection.
Thanks for sharing this video. The best time in my airline career was when I was hired by republic airlines in 1983. A company run by "real" airline people. Not the lawyers and crooks that run the airlines today. Anyways, thanks for the memories.

A bucket of paint has more personality than these people in this video, especially Bud Sweet. But still good in a retro sort of way.
