  • thats a triplet delay and not a dotted 8th. and your method doesnt work in a live band setting cuz we all know that a typical drummer tends to fluctuate tempos. the delay shouldnt dictate your playing tempo. it should be the other way around. you can achieve a dotted 8th if you know how to tap it the way it should fall in the tempo.

  • i think that if you can't tap in a dotted eighth to your tempo...

than you shouldn't be playing in dotted eighth

  • I agree!!!

  • that's a triplet delay, dl4 does not have a dotted eighth mode, you can dial in a dotted 8th as you can with any delay - but it won't do it for you. check the manual there.

  • that rickenbacker is sick

  • can you get a dotted 8th on a dd3

  • Please retire the dotted 8th delay!

  • do you play on a worship team?

  • that worked for me man thanks!

  • RICKENBACKER!!! You are on the awesome list. Congratulations.

  • kinda sounds like a song done by chris tomlin

  • love the rickenbacker

  • What you are doing is letting the time of the delay dictate your tempo, rather than setting the delay to match the tempo of the song. If you try to do this with a click it just wont work. What you CAN do with this pedal (and any tap tempo delay) is simply tap a dotted 8th rhythm. Or you can set it 16th note repeats and tap on beat 1 and 4 of a measure. That will be more accurate for most players.

  • for a second i thought it was the ghost of tom jode by rage against the machine but then he played a cord

  • @TheWanguitarist1 hahahahaha

  • that is a beautiful guitar.

  • so you simply set the delay time slightly above the eighth delay setting?

  • wow nice tone

  • Beautiful rickenbacker!

  • the video wasnt meant to show someone playing. it was meant so that all of the people that hate the dl4 cause it cant get a dotted 8th note delay can see that it actually can get a dotted 8th note delay.

  • thats a rickenbacker 360, amazing guitar.

  • cool

  • btw, the loop sampler is a mode, not the knob.

  • lol

  • wow your guitar and your pedal are great

  • ou shit ... what guitar is that ? XD

  • I believe it's a rickenbacker :p ...dunno what their models are called

  • i think its a Rickenbacker 300.....i dont know though....

  • OMG I lOVE THE RIFF MORE LOL

Can u tell me what notes u were playing

    please lol

  • sure man. i'm just playing a G on the B string 8th fret and going up the scale.

  • lulz he was making fun of you. also, nice shirt.

  • pretty good set up there mate

  • these settings will only work with that exact tempo that you are playing. Doesn't make it very useful if you are trying to do it on the fly. better to try an learn to hear the dotted eighths in your head and be able to tap it in.

  • Nope, take a look at the manual - for "Rhythmic Delay," the "DELAY TIME" knob sets the tap tempo setting, which can be set to dotted eighth as in the video. So when you tap quarters, the repeats are in 8ths.

  • @groovadelicrelic Nope. You can't tap quarters into the DL4 and get dotted eighths. That's not what this video was showing. What you can do is set the dl4 to 16th note delay and tap on beats 1 and 4 and you will get the .8th. I hated doing that on stage so I bought a nova repeater just for .8th.

  • nice rick!:)

  • make it a little longer next time man

  • NICE GUITAR BUDDY>> Love that thannnggg
