  • Pause it at :56 for the demonstation. Look at all that road to the left you could have utilized to let the cars waiting pass you.....

  • why sit in the middle of the road when you have bags of room on the left? you're holding up traffic...

  • WHAT THA FUCK WERE U DOING ANYWAS RIDING A BYCICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD SLOWING DOWN OTHER CARS. MOVE YOUR ASS TO THE LEFT

  • When passing a cycle, give enough room so if they fall over you don't run them down. thats my motto.

  • As ive said before you need to take up a more productive hobby befitting someone of your interpersonal skills, i.e wanking

  • you are a cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt cunt

  • @THENELLYXPRESS - Why so? Were you driving the taxi?

  • 30 cm? Count yourself lucky - I've watched a few of your ridiculous videos and have NEVER seen you give a car that much space. Works both ways, if you want your space, give motorists theirs.

  • I would agree that cars shouldn't run into bikes and vice versa however I have a question: at the moment that he was passing you, the area to the left was free of parked cars so why didn't you feel it prudent to move further to the left and leave the rest of the lane open for motorised traffic? I can understand keeping a distance when passing parked/stopped cars in case someone was to throw open their door, but at that particular time, the laneway was clear.

  • The cyclist cauld have gone more to the left and the motorist is a prick for endanger someones life .

  • 1:00 why didnt you pull in to the side of the road

Cars pay Tax MOT insurance to be on the road and geting held up by a non caring cyclist.

If you dont want close overtakes pull in to about 2 feet away from the curb unless in separate lanes and be courteous as you cant do the same speed.

  • I've just shook my head at much closer passes than this one............who's going to learn through watching this video?

  • a perfect overtake, without cutting into oncoming traffic the driver of the car negotiates the margin well. 30cm is a lot.

  • Cycle craft does mention the primary position as being in the middle of the road but only when your at junctions, narrow roads or slow moving traffic. You were at none of these.

  • I'm a keen cyclist, you shouldn't be in the middle of the road, you should have been as far left as possible with a safe distance from the curb.

  • Sir you a complete wanker, somebody isgoing to crack you one day.

  • Remember what happens when 2500 pounds of auto rolls over your 175 pounds of body - and from what I see, the driver will very likely win in court against your heirs. Try using a little courtesy yourself! (not that I imagine that you could take advice from anyone), it may save you from becoming just so much pate`

  • You are so passive aggressive one day you are gonna get yourself hurt/killed.. Just saying

  • distance from handle bars to centr of road = 2ft

distance from handle bars to kerb = 20ft

distance between parked cars = 600ft

even tractor drivers pull in when there's faster vehicles behind them

  • LITERALLY no one cares

    get off the road

  • you had 5ft ov clear road to the left ov you numpty, and about 30mtrs long ,did you have a bad day and was just looking for trouble !

  • Fucking cyclists! Move the fuck over and you will have nothing to moan about. The fact you ride around with a fucking camera on your helmet shows that your a wee noise up prick.

  • First ya, it was abit near, but be little nice you could move over when there is no cars parked..

  • MY god you're a self-righteous cunt. People make mistakes, have other issues on their mind. Not everyone is a perfect driver, but 99% of them do pay their road tax.

  • Can someone translate his into English? I can't understand a thing they said! lol.

  • i've never understood why cyclists ride in the middle of the road and then complain when a car gets a bit close on an overtake. of course theyre going to want to get past you otherwise they would be on a pushbike aswell!

  • If you literally went two feet to the left, none of this would happen.

    Two feet.

  • 41 people haven't read cycledaft...

  • Oh, and another giant fault with his little line drawing is that each of the lines are roughly parallel, (the care tyre and his handlebars) when in fact if you rewind and watch the overtake, its quite clear to see the car was pulling in as it went passed, which means where you drew your little lines to make it like a close overtake that part of the car had already overtaken as was pulling in, the ass end of the car was still further away from you by that point...

  • I would also like to add to everybody that after being so sad as to take out my ruler i measured the screen where he has the lines drawn across.....

Now, the screen with picture on it for me is 12cm across... where is the green line? or his tyre.... on the 7cm mark...any explanation for this? so i'd say move every line across by 1 cm on the picture apart from the car and we get about a 3cm difference on screen judging by his rough guess of 30cm, that makes the pass at about 45cm, seems fine!

  • And how closely do YOU get when you filter through traffic. You either move the fuck over or quit your bitching.

  • @futboleroR10 You have a two-tonne steel bomb. We have a billion you-tube viewers to watch how you handle it. Please drive safely and courteously.

  • @locutas1024 Who cares. Just because your vehichle doesnt weigh as much it doesnt mean you get special treatment.

  • You are safer to keep a straight (as you did) line than pulling in and out past parked cars. Let's all adopt his attitude and bash women, children and old grannies out the way if they hold us up in the supermarket eh. What a tough guy he was..(n't). He was telling you that you shouldn't be in the middle road which you have every right to be and he overtook you through a pelican crossing, which is an offence. Professional driver that's a joke if I ever heard one.

  • look at your road positioning!!!!

  • I personally have respect for you, I'm only 16 and I can't ride on the road because of cars doing stuff like that ! They think they own the road, when infact everybody has a right to be on there (obviously not pedestrians, can see some smart arse saying that) but anybody else they just think they can run off the road !

  • Who cares how close he was; he didn't hit you did he?!

  • You need to calm down. You're turning non-incidents into incidents, it doesn't help anybody. If someone passes you like that, just shake your head and move on.

  • @junker87g I didn't make an issue. He happened to be stopped where I parked my bike. I just made a suggestion that he give me more room next time. He made an issue out of my road position. Do I sound as if I am not calm?

  • @magnatom My point was you went out of your way to have an altercation with this driver, when you both could have just left it. I have drivers pull dangerous maneuvers around me (on a motorcycle) and getting into an argument with them more often than not just leaves both parties agitated and much more likely to do something even more dangerous/aggresive. You're clearly a very capable rider, just try and let some of this stuff go.

  • @magnatom - hey im from denmark were cycling is very common, and in this situtation i would say, that you really cant complain to that man in the car, sure he passes you close. But if we look at how much space you have to youre left in the moment he passes you, between parked cars, and considering cyclist as slower vehicles i will recommend for you to take that into account when on the road. Its common sense for a cyclist in denmark to, as soon as able, pull in...

  • @magnatom so there is room for passing cars - you complain about him giving you no room!? you have all the room... pull too youre left when able!!? - for youre own safety, i noticed that you dont pull to the side anytime in the video almost like you consider youreself as a car in the middle of the lane.

  • @magnatom When you ride in the middle of the road and hold everybody up what do you expect?

  • to be totally honest when im sat in my car stuck in traffic cyclists go past me closer than this guy got passed...so no big deal imo!

  • @bidefordrfc Consider the difference between the cyclist at 80kg with a top speed of 5 metres/second and a car (2000 kg, top speed 50 metres/second. Consider too that a cyclist has a direct view of his or her handlebars, and you can only guess at the position of your front fender and mirrors. Compare apples to apples please.

  • @locutas1024

Well actually considering i know exactly where my front fender is and exactly where my mirrors are, i do not have to guess, im aware of the width and length of my vehicle i feel your comment is still irrelevant...trucks go past me with no more room than a car would, so consider a 44000kg truck when compared to my car of only 2000kg...

you go on the road you have to be expected to be treated like a motorist....

i only give extra room to horses

  • @bidefordrfc A little perspective... if this cab driver gets the message and gives cyclists more room, he can only win. Driving safely costs literally nothing. If he doesn't listen and hits a cyclist, at best he lives with guilt and legal troubles; at worst, he has a bereaved family and insurance companies chasing him for whatever damages they can get. So why do you make excuses for him not to listen to good advice?

  • @locutas1024

sorry i missed the part where the cab driver hit the cyclist or caused an accident...

  • @bidefordrfc Actually, the accident statistic indicate pretty clearly that if you continue to drive dangerously, you'll run out of luck. And that means you risk your income, your family's security, and your peace of mind and get nothing in return. Like giving away lottery tickets for most of your future earnings; why would you want to do that?

  • @locutas1024

True, drive dangerously and chances are you'll be out of luck, but unlike you i didnt see a dangerous overtake. It was close, but not dangerous.

  • did he say cyclecraft?

  • I hope this biker gets hit one day and loses his leg or dies because his trashy vids of him cycling in the middle of the road and cars passing him is kinda stupid because his crying over a car passing him.

When he gets run over and dies then he can post videos complaining about the drivers ok?

  • surely the Highway Code is the law for all road users?

  • cycle craft is load of shit. and no they dont tell you to cycle in the middle of the road, they recomend you cylce to the left of the road but not to far into the kirb.

  • in america, we would have just ran your ass over. it's called impeding the flow of traffic, which is illegal, and a huge annoyance. especially by self-important assholes ona bicycle. get off the road.

  • You are so full of shit man! You ride in the middle of the road where there's no parked cars and then complain when people over take you! If you want to own the road then pay tax and insurance! You make an issue out of incidents which you have created. I have had PROPER near misses when out on my bike which make this look petty and childish. I'm almost expecting you to moan when another cyclist passes you! You are no ambassador for cyclists, that's for sure.

  • He can cycle where he likes hes still a road user...

  • I won't say all taxi drivers in Glasgow are like this, but unfortunately a significant number are. Rather than demonstrating a higher standard of driving, including the expected consideration for other road users, a significant number demonstrate a poor standard of driving (exceeding the speed limit, turning without indicating, disregard ASLs (what are those? I hear some Glasgow taxi drivers say), I could go on). Certainly the bad ones are in a minority, but they give all taxi drivers a bad rap.

  • this twat , little bitch

  • He didn't pull left after the roadworks because of the junction, and I'm sure if you love spending your time ripping on magnatom you've watched all his videos, including the ones where cars pull out of junctions without looking.

  • i dont get what is so bad about overtaking !!! there was nothing coming!!!!

  • Magnatom is mentally ill people. Leave him alone. Let him post his videos to make himself feel better. No need for all the rage.

  • @ClubCrew Completely agree

  • Honestly I feel bad for the author of this video. He seems to be a control freak and obviously has some sort of mental psychological disability which he refuses to seek help for.

  • @kevinis69 And that

  • Every vehicle should stay behind this very important man on his bicycle. We all should travel at 15mph & anyone who DARE to even THINK about overtaking him while he's in the middle of the road blocking everyone else will go STRAIGHT TO HELL & ROT FOR ETERNITY AT THE FEET OF SATAN!!!! This man's journey is more important than yours so just remember that.

  • @whitbyjet65 Absolutely. Fall at my feet you car driving fool! Google 'Magnatom I own the Road', and weep you pleb! :-)

  • @whitbyjet65 so what you are saying is tht becuase hes pointing out safety issues, mainly ones towards his health due to inconsiderate drivers. this guy on his bike should basically sod off and take a good shafting.

the driver was an arrogant prick, and if you drive on the road aswell and can not see the hazzards this drive created then you are also a danger on the roads aswell.

  • @Mathewmartialart Inconsiderate drivers? That's rich! This pillock cycles in the middle of the road just to antogonize other road users, so he can post his videos on Youtube. The man's an attention seeker who loves to play the victim. Don't talk to me about safety issues, pal! Go have a talk with this cretin about it.

  • @whitbyjet65

presumably its now LEGAL to overtake and cross over the zig zags on a zebra crossing

yes some cyclists are out to make a point

yes at points he was far out, but the Highway code does explain about road position ? the Highway code is there for a reason....

far too many people think they are above the law

  • @pondhall Including this prick.

  • @whitbyjet65 and your point is ?

    try commenting on the article

so are you saying its OK to overtake on zig zag lines approaching a pedestrian crossing.

the highway code also explains the correct distance when you are passing stationary cars and overtaking other road users

  • @whitbyjet65 If we thought you had a more important errand than all the people in front of you, we'd put gumballs on your car or give you a motorcycle escort. Don't you guys who whinge about cyclists holding up traffic notice that cyclists who have the same destination as a car generally arrive in slightly less time than it would take the motorist to find a parking spot? Video after video of dangerous passes where the cyclist catches up at the next light and you never figure it out.

  • @locutas1024 Ok, Bristol to York. Let's see who gets there first.

  • @whitbyjet65 Since I can fit a bike on a plane or train, and anyone but the President of the United States has a tough time getting a car on a plane, I could beat you there too. Of course, I'd have to come over to England to do it, spending a ton of greenhouse gasses, so let's keep this with urban cycling, the situation addressed in the video.

  • @locutas1024 You'd have a tough time getting a plane from Bristol to York, old chap. As for the train, it'd take you about three hours longer after all the changes. Face facts, bikes are just toys. How can a person carry his work equipment or family on a bike? How can I do a 35 mile commute to work? Go and play with your toy bike in your garden & leave the roads free for serious road users.

  • @whitbyjet65 Since I have a pilot's license and a plane, I might just swing it. But that doesn't really address your bikes and toys nonsense. So: since I work with my brain, I can easily carry my equipment on my bike, and supplement it with a laptop or a jump drive if I need to. As Magnatom shows, a cyclist can do a reasonable commute, although a 35 mile commute might call for a bus as well (don't you have bike racks on buses? The Americans have had them since 2000).

  • @locutas1024 AHAHAHAHA! Yeah of COURSE you have your own aeroplane. Ok, I'll take you on from Bristol to York. Those hills are killers. You'll probably do 300 yards every three minutes. Me? I'll just turn the radio up a bit as I tear up them. By the way, just because you travel light, it doesn't mean everyone does. Magnatom & reasonable??? That must be the most glaring oxymoron ever!

  • @locutas1024 By the way, York doesn't have its own airport. You'll have to fly to Leeds. Leeds to York on a bike? About 4 hours (with the wind behind you). Oh & I want you to carry a suitcase, an electric guitar, presents for the whole family and 15 tins of paint. Face facts....bikes are useless toys.

  • @whitbyjet65 Yawn. For those of us with flying licenses, York has Full Sutton Airfield. About an hour's ride on the A166 to York through Stamford Bridge. That gives me 30 min preflight, an hour and a half in the air, an hour's ride to York, for a three hour trip, versus about 4 hours on the road, assuming no traffic jams. As for your freight requests: do you seriously mean to argue that every vehicle has to carry all that, all the time?

  • @locutas1024 But there's one HUGE flaw in your argument. Shall I point it out to you? Your journey from Bristol to York wouldn't be on a bicycle, would it? It'd be in an aeroplane. You have just proved my argument for me - bicycles are useless little toys. Yes, I do carry equipment & passengers every day. I also travel over 100 miles every working day. A cycle is as much use to me as a jellyfish!

  • @whitbyjet65 So what? If I have a hundred containers to move, a car won't do me any good either. For a single rider carrying 20 kilos or less for under 20 km, which covers well over 50% of trips now done by car, a bicycle works fine, and avoids civic problems of congestion and individual problems with health.

  • @locutas1024 Your scenario is stupid, sir! The average person doesn't move 100 containers but he/she DOES have children, equipment & shopping to take & bring each & every day. And what about old people & people with medical problems? What about people with tight schedules? We don't have an hour to make a journey that would take 10 minutes in a car. You have half an hour to go shopping in your lunch hour. Impossible to do on a bike but a car is the perfect tool. That's why cars are so popular.

  • @whitbyjet65 You keep missing the point. Nobody has called for the abolition of the car. Most cyclists have cars, and we use them when need to. But the average person, in the average trip, moves themselves and less than 20kg of goods under 20km: the application bicycles excel at. Your hour vs ten minutes comparison reveals the distortion in car advocate thinking: unless you live on a motorway, your trip will take much more than 10 minutes. In most cities, the bike will beat your car.

  • @locutas1024 You can make statistics say anything you want. Here's an eg: You have to collect an important document from the bank. It's 5 miles away (10 mile round trip). You have 45 minutes before you have to be back at work. It's raining heavily. Your area has many hills . A bike is totally useless yet statistics say you have under 20kg of goods & you're travelling under 20km. Face facts, you're not going to get people out of their cars & onto bicycles.

  • @whitbyjet65 A ten mile round trip in less than optimal conditions in 45 minutes? Not happening in the city I live in. Just getting there will take twenty minutes at an absolute minimum. Then parking, getting to the bank, picking up the document, and the return trip of, again at a bare minimum, twenty to twenty-five minutes. That puts you over 45 minutes for sure. If you compare cars to bicycles, never overestimate the effective speed of the car.

  • @locutas1024 Ok if you want to be pedantic about it, you have to go to an out of town supermarket with plenty of free parking. And remember, it's in a town with LOTS of HUGE hills. I love seeing cyclists huffing & puffing their way up a huge hill doing about fifteen feet every five minutes...especially in the rain. It's great entertainment.

  • @whitbyjet65 ...the statistics indicate those cyclists will all outlive you an average of two years, so laugh now. And as your increasingly desperate efforts to construct artificial scenarios in which cars outperform bicycles fails to obscure, bicycles outperform cars in urban traffic.

  • @locutas1024 And face facts, the car has been invented & the majority of road users are in cars. Bicycles have never been a serious mode of transport. The horse & cart was always used as a means of transport until cars arrived. Cycles have never been taken seriously for a reason & the guy in this video is that reason! He gives you all a bad name. I'm amazed you admire him so much. If I was a cyclist, I'd despise him.

  • @whitbyjet65 As far as I can see, Magnatom cycles safely, legally, acknowledges his mistakes and those of other cyclists, and promotes safety. If the automobile fostered the healthy, safety oriented culture that prevails in aviation, all drivers would see him as a positive partner for road safety as I do.

  • @locutas1024 Magnatom is an attention seeker. He goes out looking for confrontation. It's how he gets his kicks. He cycles OUTSIDE cycle lanes & then bleats when car drivers get annoyed. He cycles in the centre of the road when it's perfectly safe to cycle on the left. The man is a menace! He's a minority causing problems for the majority. If you think that's acceptable behaviour perhaps it's time you used public transport & melted your bike down to be made into cat food tins.

  • @whitbyjet65 Magnatom follows the law and exposes unsafe behaviour by drivers, and by extension the noxious culture of entitlement and impatience that prevails among motorists. As someone with a kid who will start agitating for driver "education" in a little more than a year, I want people to give that culture all the "problems" (aka sharp reminders of the importance of safety) possible.

  • @locutas1024 You're delusional! You think it's safe to cycle in the centre of the road, do you? You think it's ok to deliberately hold up faster traffic, just because you can? You think it's acceptable to goad drivers with your moronic road positioning & then film them? If Magnatom is so safe, how come he has so many near misses? I know cyclists who don't have any bother at all while cycling yet Magnatom has an incident every time he goes out. Hmmm? I wonder why?

  • @whitbyjet65 I and virtually every cycling authority, from the League of American Bicyclists to Can-bike endorse taking the lane. To judge by the videos, Magnatom never "holds up" faster traffic; he insists they pass him safely and legally, as I want other motorists to pass me and my family on the motorway. As for an "incident every time", Magnatom has 33 videos posted, of which maybe 15 show a motorist behaving badly, out of a thousand commutes. A car dashboard camera would show the same.

  • @locutas1024 You've really been sucked in by this guy, haven't you? He's an attention seeker. He loves the drama of it. Like one guy said, he's the kid at school who would start a fight & then run to teacher crying when he gets punched.

  • It's a piss take that you're recieving death threats because you have the courage to stand up for yourself as a cyclist against incompetent drivers... great video's btw :)

  • What good is it for you if you die but you were wright (which you aren't)? There was more then space enough but you kept driving in the middle of the road. Demanding that all fast vehicules should drive your snail speed seems a little selfish to me.

  • lol magnatoms new boss' first day at work!

  • David i have the same problems, I think you're doing a great job and I'm thinking of buying a helmet camara.

  • What the feck is wrong with you ? Are you mentally retarded ? Why do you drive on the middle of the road ? Do you want Cars undertaking you on the left ? The First rule of the road is keep left . You seem to think that this rule is redundant for you , honestly you need help , your constant attempts of starting confrontations with other road users will sadly bring your life to an end , affecting not just your loved ones , also the friends and families of your next unwitting victim.

  • As a cyclist (in Canada), we are trained that in city driving, if at all possible, take a dominant lane position if safe to do so. Magnatom is in light traffic (virtually none visible) and is in a dominant lane position. As he is a two wheeled vehicle on the road (and a bike between the legs on a road surface = vehicle), he shares the same rights as all vehicles on said road, including lane dominance. The driver of the taxi was clearly and demonstrably in the wrong.

  • YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE LOL!!!

RIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD? I DON'T GIVE A FUCK IF IT'S LEGAL, YOU SHOULD BE COURTEOUS ENOUGH TO MOVE OVER, AND LET A VEHICLE 10 TIMES YOUR SIZE AND 10 TIMES YOUR SPEED PAST!

DO YOU REALLY THINK WE ARE GOING TO DODDLE BEHIND YOU DOING 10mph?

AND CONFRONTING SOMEBODY WHILST OUT OF BREATH AND TRYING TO SOUND SERIOUS! LOL YOU ARE A FUCKIN MUPPET!

I'm going to crush every biker i see wearing a hi-vis vest, in the hope it'll be u.

    TWAT!

  • @C0mm3n you think your scary typing in capitals yeah? your meant to ride in the middle of the road you moron, as it makes it less likely for a car too hit you. your pathetic, coming on youtube and threatening to kill cyclists because they don't dive out of your way when you drive up behind them in your ford fiesta playing ridiculously loud chavvy music. Grow a pair of balls.

  • Or you could just grow a pair of balls and ride out of the way of cars.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm from australia and there are a lot of drivers here too who seem to think it's more important to get to their destination 5 seconds faster than it would have if they were to wait till an appropriate time to pass. We don't ask for much on the road, just for as much respect as you would give if it was your child on that bike. To those who think this bloke is having a teary stop watching his videos, after all you don't want to be late for that all important engagement you must have.

  • My god you're such a sad idiot.. This video is the bigest proof so far.. You just keep driving in the middle of the road while there is place for 2 truck besides each other. You want every one to stay behind you all the time?? Next time I see you on the road id move over!!!

  • @dipstick3031

Would you be willing to clarify exactly what you mean by your last sentence means?

  • @magnatom It means that it would be better for you if you move over when there is so much space and I want to overtake you... But after this video you've proofed to me that you are so sad that I realy should stop reacting to your practice.. Its not worth the efford..

  • @magnatom

Being a victim feels great, doesn´t it

All those people who are wrong, and you are right, all the time ...

Would you please take a conversation with a good friend?

  • @magnatom it means he'll squish you like a bug

  • @magnatom i think hes saying hes gonan hit you.

  • @dipstick3031 - Riding in the middle of the lane (primary position) is actually recommended as the safest position where roads are narrow or where there are parked cars for two principle reasons - a) to avoid being hit by or having to swerve to avoid a door opening b) to force overtaking vehicles to overtake when the opposite carriageway is clear and it is therefore safe to overtake, rather than squeezing past with the cyclist in the gutter and the wing mirror inches from the bikes handlebars.

  • @u4987 blablablabla. On the parts where the road is wide and there are no parked cars you just get the fuck out of the way! Let the cars pass. if no its YOU thats asking for trouble. Man one day you will realy walk in to the wrong guy with you big mouth. I would love to see you rebuilded face after that meeting.

  • @dipstick3031 the last sentence , was i believe a moment which if this guys health does come into efect in a down wards way... you will be a prime suspect in who "attacked" him

  • I support what you are doing and am a commuting and racing cyclist, but really, asking a taxi driver if he's read Cyclecraft? You really should just refer to the rules of the road, not some cycle-commuting dork-bible. Otherwise you just come across as a twat.

  • I am interested which guidance notes you were looking at magnatom which tells you to stay in the middle of the lane. I'm looking at the directgov rules for cyclists site which recommends you use the cycle lanes if safe to do so. It's not compulsory, but they recommend it.

  • I agree that you shouldnt be in the middle of the road. Are there not cycle lanes?

  • Whats faster? A bike or a car?

The car by far, so let the biker go infront of you..

    Lazy cunts..

    =3

  • typical fat taxi driver - private cabs are among worst drivers on the road especially the ones in people carriers.

for those desperate to overtake u catch up with them at next traffic lights or traffic jam anyway, or they overtake then turn left or if a bus they pull in at next bus stop and back to square one.

i got touched by a bus the other day it basically squeezed me into side of the road to the point i had to lean sideways and put my hand on the bus to keep it off.

  • a video where another cyclist who rides in the middle of the road and blocks the traffic.

  • @MovieInventor ... The bike is another vehicle with right to be on the road, it is not blocking the traffic, it is just as much part of the traffic as any car.

  • How do you think we feel here in the US?

  • I love your videos!! So many people have no idea how to drive! Its bad enough being in a vehicle, I would be so terrified on a bike!! Also every video I think, THEY"RE DRIVING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!!!! (I'm from Canada). Keep doing what you're doing, and maybe idiots will learn how to drive!

  • Hey mate, never mind the rules, your gonna end up in a box, if your going slower than traffic then best moving over to stay alive, you cant change the world mate, when Im out with a learner rider on motorbikes and its a fast country road that his bike cant match, I advise him to let traffic pass cause otherwise he could be in extreme danger, think about it and good luck

  • Just to point something out the was a large area of free space in the parked cars. Now I would have moved into that space to let cars overtake me. Stop being a cycle nazi.

  • Sorry I cant understand why you had to ride so far away from the kerb in this vid. When im'm cycling to work I would use half that width. Its no wonder you piss a lot of drivers off i'm afraid.

And please dont use the 'car door' excuse. In parts of this vid your not near any cars. I always nip closer to the kerb if im not passing parked cars.

  • @Gordonzo17 None of which has anything to do with the passing distance the car used.

  • @bendystix

that wasnt the point i was making so it didnt need to have anything to do with passing distances. rude!

  • @Gordonzo17 In your comment you were talking about how he should have been closer to the curb, which is irrelevant. Where ever you may be in the outer lane, the cars should be giving you 3-4ft of space. You seemed to be justifying the cars actions because of where he placed himself in his lane.

  • Wow. Glasgow must be a great place to cycle in. Remind me not to take a job there.....

  • @mqasim7866 yes its true, people in cars are generally more important, busy and higher class citizens than cyclists.... except for the fat and lazy and arrogant part... the very best thing is that dude gets it all on video tape and the bad drivers get a nice invitation to the policeman's ball in the mail

  • how far is your commute? All your videos seem to be of different stretches of road. Just curious

  • @htdtr

It used to be 4.5 miles, now it is 11.5miles each way.

  • highway code rule 147 - You should - not allow yourself to become agitated or involved if someone is behaving badly on the road. This will only make the situation worse. Pull over, calm down and, when you feel relaxed, continue your journey.

Theres plenty of idiots on the roads. But just keep yourself safe and forget about them. All your doing is winding yourself up to a state where you could make a mistake through your rage. Chill out Dude!

  • Moving over would be dangerous for the biker. People like to open their car doors when they don't see cars coming.. for some reason they look right through people on bikes...

  • Professional drivers don't seem to be very professional at all. They seem to think the are supireor to other drivers/cyclists like yourself.

  • you could have got to over to allow the traffic by

  • Tip: Have a hand pump clipped to your frame, if they come close to knocking you off your bike, use it to take their wing mirrors off :)

  • @mqasim7866

Feel free to message me via youtube messaging if you feel the need.

  • @mqasim7866

LOL! Oh aye I'm jealous! LOL! I have a car thanks, and my bikes are probably worth more than most of the cars on the road.

Perhaps you're just jealous as all you do is sit in front of the computer all day, nursing your ever expanding mid-rift! ;-)

  • @magnatom i'm a little jealous... you've got a pretty sweet road bike

  • @magnatom I love your replies to these comments good sir, puts them in there place. People just have no common sense or logic I guess, keep up the good work!

  • My Tyre, Handlebar , Car. <-- so much space to your left, your asking to be knocked off if you aren't careful especially by impatience drivers to have to follow cyclists for long periods of time.

  • Magnatom. I like you cycle to work (32 mile round trip), I respect your views on how you should cycle and everybody has there own idea. But watching your videos makes me cringe and gives a bad impression of cyclists. At the end of the day, we are the inferior ones on the road as are motorcyclists. WE need to respect car drivers and not the other way round. Stay out of car drivers way and allow them to pass, this way nobody gets hurt or annoyed. Safe riding.

  • I am a cyclist in Townsville, QLD, Australia. When I cycle, for exercise, I always try to be as far from the traffic as possible, i.e. as far left on the road as I can. I am all for your cause but in my opinion you don't have to be in the middle of the road. If you move to the left some more than the overtaking won't be as close. The cars are fast moving metal and you are flesh and bone, don't take chances mate.

  • the bloke has a point why be in the middle of the road when you have a lot of the road to your left

you seem to go about asking for trouble and say your famous thing

    "your getting reported mate"

  • Google 'Magnatom FAQ'

  • @magnatom

I googled it, but the place on the road is as far left as possible. You don't do this. Why? You are making it hard for yourselve.

  • @Mickygemma If you dont' then motorists will overtake too close.

  • You have the most boring videos on the internet, congrats! Get smaller bars jackass.

  • @McKJudo

Then you would be best to avoid the rest of my videos. Bye! :-)

  • @magnatom I NEED TO GET THE LAST WORD!!!!WHINE!!!!LOL!

  • @McKJudo What kind of pap are you going on about you drunken oblivious fool? Your comment is void and null due to lack of co-ordination of brain to communication functionality.

  • @McKJudo At least he can be bothered to make videos!

  • you diserve a slap

  • Oooh, are you offering cheeky boy! ;-)

  • i ent no boy dude...

  • Love the video.

So let me get this right. The taxi driver sees a fellow road user in his way, mistakenly feels that road user shouldn't be in the primary position because they happen to be a cyclist and so is fair game for a stupid, dangerous overtake?

    Rhetorical question.

Just the type of driver that has caused me to get a helmet camera recently. There's more of us everyday!

Keep up the good work Magnatom.

  • Remember, the penalty for cycling in the middle of the lane is death.

    Apparently.

  • aye keep to the left and stop holding up aw the traffic, and wot is it wit people cycling on dual carriage ways

  • @MrJoefaeglesga - I think even Magnatom will admit today that his riding style has changed slightly (this is an old video).

However, having said that, dont you feel its presumptuous on the taxi drivers part to assume its safe to overtake at that close a distance? After all there may well have been a valid reason for being in primary (deisel, ice, damaged road surface, etc, too much to list here tbh) and overtaking like that may compound matters

  • GET AN ENGINE !

  • LOL! I have one in my car thanks.

I'm always tempted when I see obese people driving 1 mile to work to shout get a bike though...

    :-)

  • Keep up the good work Doc.I cycle a round trip of 20 miles a day and endure much the same. There are a lot of unaware ignorant people who need to educate themselves a little more when in charge of a lethal weapon.

  • Do you pay road tax magatom?

    Yes?

    No?

No you don't, get over to the side of the road and let people who pay use the roads.

I ride a motorcycle to work, even I move over to the left if I want to ride slowly

  • He might not pay road tax, but he also doesnt create pollution, pollution that causes the premature deaths of thousands of people each year. He is a champion, and more cyclists are taking to camera's to do the same thing.

  • I think we cyclists see 'more' than drivers .

And it's about time we are given more respect .

  • @futsack - cyclists legally have MORE rights than drivers in the UK. It doesnt make it any less of a lie the more you say it.

  • And you are a rude, prick you drives around in a vehicle that spews out toxic chemicals and greenhouse gases, and has the gall to blame those people who chose not to be environmental vandals!!

Maybe you dont, but most people live in a society where we have laws, and one of those is not he who has the biggest vehicle is right.

  • 0:12 you could have moved over to the left passing the bus stop, 0:32 you could have moved over to the left at the crossing.

Sitting out to prevent overtaking just causes frustration to following traffic.

I teach learner drivers in all classes of vehicle, from car to artic and bus, if you are traveling slowly move to the left to let following traffic past.

There was plenty space on your left to move clear to allow the cars past

Taxi driver is wrong, but you dont want to be dead right.
