  • What's the name of the vinyl that you use to scratch, I see That a lots of dj's use the same vinyl.

  • @DjEx310 Superseal Breaks by Dirtstyle

  • No disrespect intended or anything like that, but what is with the vinyl records? I mean, who uses turntables anymore? I thought those went out of style years ago. I'm a DJ myself and so are many of my friends, and I don't know anyone who plays on those things. All the DJ's I know either use CD's or play MP3's. The scratching sounded good though.

  • @TheSuperBlackMan Turntables "went out of style" ?! - says who? MTV? DJ Hero? ;)

All the Dj's i know - at least the skilled ones - use classic turntables (even the kindergarten mixing (no scratching) electro dudes).

All the others, who don't (want to) practice a lot to gain skills (not the "button-pressing"-FX- style of skills) use mainly digital equipment.

"Some" still prefer practice>skills - over reading the manual + imo vinyl is just sexy, compared to a CD or mp3.

  • Yo dat aint no combo scratch where I come from, homeboy. A combo scratch is where u start wit a backwards crabwalk wit the fader lefted high and the treble on twist. Den u hitt it hard like BAM! on em while you sneak a cripplin skin sneezer through with a 130 bpm break on tilt. Dat my friend is a combo!!! Recognize muthafucka!! Nice vids tho and dats realzies.

  • hi man,is it essential to use butter rugs slipmats. I am not brilliant but ok at scratching and was wondering if them slip mats would improve my technique.thanks

  • @jaydaring1 its not essential....but it will make you be able to move the record backwards and forwards quicker...

  • @jaydaring1 well they certainly do help, not essential, but trust it will help the scratch movement on the record hand

  • what vinyl are you using to scratch to mate ?

  • @mancityfancraig Qberts super seal

  • The point is to learn from not just mixed to get a good MIXED to be able to get its meaning k not too figure What we show you guys doing all is bla bla dj-x-play

  • The point is to learn from not just mixed to get a good MIXED to be able to get its meaning k not too figure What we show you guys doing all is bla bla dj-x-play

  • youtube wanker

  • my xfader has 3 different settings for volume control its a pioneer djm 800 which of those fader settings would be optimal for scracthing? ive played around w/all 3 and my scracthing always sounds like shit..i know its me but should i use the one where the volume peaks in the center or one of the other 2?

  • @youngn420 well for me as explained in another vid, if you have an adjustable cross fader, set it to a tight setting, so as soon as the fader is opened 1mm you hear the sound, this allows quick on and offs using the cross fader.

  • what this name music base plis?

  • took me a while to get the double click, but sounds sweet when you finally get it.

  • Gay instrumental.

  • why aren't your turntables in battle position, with the tone arm at the top??

  • They dont have to be, its personal preference, some people find that way easier

  • Comment removed

  • Good stuff mate.

  • cheers man, helped. Prick thats hating below is a cock.

Subbed, keep them coming, im only a begginer DJ and ellaskins is a nob so your the only one i really come to haha. cheers.

  • I want that T-shirt. Want to wear it to work one day.

  • this is not intermediate level. its very basic.

  • Thats not a basic scratch, its intermediate like he said dummy. chirps, baby scratch,1 click flares and drags are beginers......this scratch is not to advance and not to slow...it medium. Keep putting them the tutorials out u.k good shit

  • cheers man for the positive comment, not had internet for ages hence not a lot happening on my account, will try to post some new material soon.

  • where the stereo?

  • can u reply pls?

what do u use for the deck that u scrach? a song?

    or whatt??

  • the track used is clavin harris acceptable in the 80's. and used the qbert superseal scratch record for the scratching.....hope this answers your question. hecticuk

  • How the fuck can you do a tutorial! your no way good enough! Thats beginners shit there not intermideate, plus you dis the scratch master sy when all your doing is the same scratch!! Check out sy in comp on here, ten times better than you, even i am! check my facebook and your see for yourself i DJ as you commented i dont, Check out my friend list, photos and vids. Sure my friendlist would get 5 stars compared to that vid!!!

  • jesus...you really are stupid...this is the same scratch as this is what i am demonstrating in this video. ive done a few tutorials which has goot me over 600 subscribers and over 300,000 views, which pisses all over ur bonfire fella. baby scratch is beginner stuff u din. ive been listening to hardcore for 14+ yrs and yes sy does use the same scratch pattern fact....thats what im saying! Ive posted a comment on ur profile read it, if u think ur good enough u will be up for challenge init u dic

  • @HecticUK leave the guy alone some people who actually need the help are watching this, it may be beginner and some people are interested in that

  • I hope you don't think sy is that good of a scratcher, there's so many better DJs

  • @carllewisnew hey dickhead looks like u ran scared hectic challanged u to a battle over a year ago an u pussied out!!! check yur profile both hectic an me posted on ur channel over a year ago! stop listenin to alicia keys an make a betta vid if u man ennuf! RESPECT to hectic

  • Cool cutz, mate. I really like your style.

    Big up from Portugal.

  • thanks much appreciated....will be uploading some more new material soon....thats a promise! hecticuk

  • Does scratching have a specific music genre?

  • well it all started with hiphop. so thats the root music genre. but dj's like dj yoda will make any music genre sound even better with scratching. so simple answer you can scratch to any type of music, but it started off with hiphop. bigup hecticuk

  • oh and carl new is facebook name, look it up gayboy

  • ha ha ha sad lill boy u are. i dont have facebook so wont be looking up u on that. if ur so good post some vids on youtube, i would really like to see how s*it on the decks u are. cos u obviously thinkk ur gr8......

  • please can you tell me the name of song you use here?

  • x2 technic 1210's mk5

    x1 vestax pmc05 mk3 mixer

    x1 dj hecticuk

    hope this answers your question

  • lol

  • hey man nice work. It's nice to see a dj on here who scratches on the right non hamster style like me.

  • thanks for watching please check out the response to this vid i did to see more move.. thanks

  • thats really good...but i have to ask u something...how much costed those turntables?...pls reply

  • cheers. well i paid £500 for the pair and that was off ebay....the latest model m5 sells for about £440 per deck so like that £880 so for decent equipment it will cost you. hecticuk

  • Lol... Cool shirt, I feel the same way too. Thank's for the lesson you're pretty good on the 1's and 2's.

  • thanks man, please check my other vids for some more deck moves. peace hecticuk

  • that was lame. the scratching had no soul. it feels fake and routine. the best advise for new guys, fuck routines/specific techniques. freestyle everything. just like zone out, and let the sound happen, it will.

  • hahaha you dic....if ur gonna diss someones vid at least have one of your own to show how good you is. As it goes, you got no vids of your own, you got one whole friend on youtube, and basically you seem a sad lill boy to me. so if you wanna diss at least ave one vid of ur own!

  • I hate dicks like this, leaving shit feedbacka nd usually cos they have no idea, wish they could do it or just want to feel cool. Great vids mate, I'll check more out soon.

  • thrillingfungus's post that is

  • cheers man, its not like its the first time people try and slate you when u only trying to share some deck skills....anyways yeah please do check out me other vids for more scratch moves. Peace hecticuk

  • do you know how to mix? it confuses me.

    btw nice vid! sounds cool.

  • if interest'd look up Rob Swift TTM . its turntabilsim methology or method new way of understanding or utilizing Dj scratches on paper like music( HecticUK )check it out man and give me call bak and tell me wha you think bout that .

  • thanks for posting your comment, i have seen the material your on about, and yeah it is the mutz nutz....jus sadly at the moment ive had quite a few big changes in my life which has prevented me from doing any recent material, but should hopefully be posting some new materail soon, covering all my stuff

  • Wicked stuff m8,where can ya get the superseal record?is it rare?

  • ebay is where i got mine, i doubt your local record store will stock it. but to be honest any skipless scratch record always has the "ahhh" sample which is what most scratcheads use

  • 2:44

where the good stuff begins <3

  • ke pena

  • hectic u rock...........keep making tutorials

  • thanks man been meaning to do some more vids, but jus been so busy with other things....but fear not i will pull my finger out to show some new moves for turntablists out there!

  • Can you tell me the name of this song ?I like it !thanks

  • calvin harris "acceptable in the 80's" instrumental

  • hey man im wondering if it makes a difference what needle you use. atm i u se ortofon concordes, and they seem to skip and bounce a lot. i hear the shure 447's are really good for scratching, does it make a difference what needle you use or am i just being a tad rough on the record? cheers

  • yeah it does make a difference...i used to use stantons, but swapped to some shure needles and never looked back, my needles stick like glue to me records now, also make sure that if your scratching that the hole in the middle of the record is a nice tight fit onto your turntable

  • thanks for the tips man, keep up the good work

  • Cheers man, please watch this space for some more tips and tricks on the decks.

    Bigup Hectic

  • top stuff that mate keep it up bruv

  • he's doin the same scratching through out the whole beat

  • look mate you might not understand cos if you did you would not have posted the comment...but to explain to you...this video was done to demonstrate that scratch....hence why im doing it over and over again to show you the technique. Also this is why i called it a tutorial. I hope you now understand

  • oh sorry about that someone else woz using ma pc at that time

but just to say tho i like the basics of that scratching effect with the hand movement on the cross fader though.

  • imposible hmmm how ?

  • haha lol

  • Thanks HecticUK for another nice tutorial, keep the videos coming and teach them bitch slappers (htisTOM) how to scratch like a pro!!!! =)

  • cheers man, check me hardcore scratch vids for some faster scratch patterns. Peace Hectic

  • will do!!

Could you maybe do a vid for people learning to scratch like myself, like I have the basics covered but just cant seem to get any nice sounds out of it lol

    =)

  • what records did u use i couldn't hear them

  • lmao that kind needs a fucking spliff like.

mate keep the tutorials going theyre well good.

especially for people who dont think they know it all already!!

    thanks again.cooper

  • thanks man, proper appreciated. Yeah you always get some fools on youtube who think they know it all. But just trying to share some skills with others here, check me latest hardcore vids for some scratching that would work with DnB. Peace Hectic

  • nd what u fink ur scratchin good. its bollocks!! get a life mate.

  • Hahahahahahaha you sad lill c*nt look if u listen to anything sy has done for the last decade you will see its the same pattern why dont u practise on ur own scratching b4 u diss others, u know id proper fukin rinse u out on the decks....keep practising and u might get there!

  • ur a mug mate haha u wanker... im 14 ur bout 20 30 nd u stil cnt scratch... does it make u big tryin to take da piss out of a 14 year old but it aint workin u faggot... haha wta a fukin cock haha

  • im glad you love sy. i aint dissin him, jus saying he's been using the same pattern for like the last decade

  • really good tutorial thanks :)

  • cheers man, please check my other vids for some more tips and tricks on the decks. Thanks Hectic

  • hey what equipment should i start with im a beginner?? What do u recommend? and i didnt want something that costs too muchc u know what i mean...

  • well man, i started out with some crappy soundlabs belt drives, then moved onto some cheap citronic direct drives, and now I own technic 1210's. What you gotta realise is the cheaper decks/equipment you buy, the less you will able to do with it, like scratching etc.

  • daumm ur quiet as fcukk

  • check my hardcore vids for some different inspiration on fast cutting, peace hectic

  • i hold my x fade in a different way! but ur way seems to cut it out quicker! i cant use ur

    way at all!

  • don't sweat it man, everyone has there own style im sure you will adapt a way to do quicker cuts with enough practise

  • hello from australia bruv,

i take it your preferred hand is your left. i.e; you're left handed?

    just curious.

  • yeah man, thats correct....however another friend who scratches, and is left handed uses his right hand on x-fader and left hand on the deck...it's really down to what feels best for you.

  • whats is the sound you and almost all other DJs using? please tell me i do seriously need help :)

  • its the "arrrrhhh" sample found on basically on scratch record....or skip proof record

  • to get that sound u have to buy a record with just that sound? or can u get ir from a vocal ? thanks man

  • dude you have to buy specific scratch records for scratching, i can put these samples onto mp3....but if your goin for vinyl buy a skip proof scratch record

  • ah nice thnx bro, :)

  • scratchoholics makes nice skipless records. a lot of unique samples. got it from juno records

  • yo....i cat ever seem to get my crab to react right on the fader. how can i get it to chop the way it is supposed to?

  • adjust your x-fader setting. If you dont have a mixer with a variable x-fader GET ONE. Peace Hectic

  • u gt some skill man and the first tutorial u did really helped me i went and bought 4 breakbeat and scratch records now im at an alright standard to inpress mates lol keep em coming!!

  • Thanks man, i got some new tricks to share soon, so keep watching this space. And thanks for watching! :)

  • Now you've helped me with the scratching, I'll help you with the spelling. It's "dedicated". Cheers for taking the time and effort to help others.

  • lmao thanks for the ever so useful comment, i'll remember to run a spell check next time!

  • Hey dude, it's really cool to watch a DJ who's not totally gangster :P but I'm not into any of the music your using, and I'm not really a Dj either. But I'm a sonwriter, and a vocalist in a Metal band in Norway, and I'm thinking about making some scratching on some of the demos. It would be really helpfull if you could make a vid of you scratching to a metalsong, and if you could explain what parts you need to do this DJ thing :) like your tutorials :D hope you get back to me

  • send me the song on Mp3 format then I'll happily scratch over the song and send it back to you.

    Peace

  • I am curious to see how it turns out!!

  • Hey bro, check out Mr. Dibbs. Hes on myspace...I think. But yeah hes kind of a metal DJ. He does alot of cutting and mixing with metal songs. I mean its not black metal, or thrash, or anything like that ill Sweedish metal, but its still pretty ok stuff. Buy some of his cd's, check em out, im sure youll get some good ideas.

  • Thanks a lot, Both of you, I'll Definitly check out his myspace ;) And I'll send you a mp3 file, Hectic, as soon as possible :D It's really cool that people actually care, so thanks a lot :D

  • nice one help alot wot record would u recomend for scratchin wid hardcore

  • go to thisisforthedj DOT com and get any of those scratch records, they are produced by DJ SY!!!

  • ok m8 nice on

  • was record would you recormend me to buy since i am just getting decks for christmas?

  • any of the "DJ Rectangle" final battle weapon series are cool for scratching. :)

  • Props on the tut btw

  • Are you using the regular PMC 05 III or the DX, if the DX, is there any difference in features and quality as opposed to the standard III, because I'm thinking of upgrading, but if it isn't much difference I might save a few extra bucks and buy a Rane.

  • im using the vestax pmc 05 mk3 mixer. It does have an input to control special efx units. But ive only ever used this a few times. hopes this answers your question

  • yo, matthewjohnquinn, lets see some scratchin

  • great job, its a good tutorial for begginers.

and the other sad twats who think this is lame can go fuck themselves, and matthew shows your a sad twat if you prefer to scratch your arse .. Great job HecticUK

and couldnt agree more with your comments!

  • nice job!

  • i am new to this, what decks and mixers do u recommend for Hiphop style DJing.

    thnx

    Alex

  • hey xXkevboXx are you new to spelling as well as scratchin' you thick twat...sorry tihck wtat. PS HecticUK I scratch my arse better

  • Well young matthew maybe you should do a video on it, and maybe you will receive over 140,000 views, and over 300 subscribers. Or you could carry on being the sad twat you already are ;)

  • I'll carry on being the sad twat I am thanks. Or are you the sad twat making amature scratch tutorials. Wait!....erm?..yeah i just remembered its definatly you - because you were the one scratching to...wait for it...Calvin Harris. Fuck me im wet with laughter. Wick wick woo wick wick woo!

  • sorry Dianne or Matt, wotever you are TRAN MAN but really really looking forward to seeing you put some of your scratching vids on youtube. till then u really are just a sad sad twat...and yes there amature tutorials as i know im not professional hence i work in I.T for a living you loser!

  • Get a life, and buy some decks loser!

  • i have decks but stop stressing i was saying an opinion and ive bin train by well known DJ's in notts like DJ fever Chris Quadrant and DJ JS so dont say i dont have not deck setup m8 cause i do i have two Technics 1210mk2 and a stanton SA-5 mixer so wtf are you on about

  • so dont UK djs know how to scratch properly? both your scratching ans dj sy's scratching needs a hell of a lot more practice b4 you make tutorials - leave it to the real scratch djs would ya..
