  • "Tap, rack, it will or it won't, if it don't, unload it reload it and it fixes it."

#1 in the top 10 commandments of function drills!!! GREAT JOB!

  • This man is all buisness! Great how to! My wife and I will be doing these drills at the range next time:)

  • Like....like like like like! Thanks

  • 1 idiot couldn't fix a jammed pistol. :D

  • Awesome guide, should be required watching for LTC applicants.

  • Tap, Rack & Go. Easy Peezy.

  • what about squib load

  • @psycomutt That's when you take the cyanide pill.

  • @psycomutt it turns into a melee weapon...

  • This guy talks like Keith Apicary!... If any of you know who he is.

    Informative video btw.

  • LOL rogue scholars, ooogah boogah

  • @rockhardxrocker Rhodes Scholar.

  • Tap, rack, bang. That's my philosophy on women... tap, rack, and finally.... BANG. BTW, I bet this dude has an AWSOME Forrest Gump impression.

  • good stuff!

  • BEST WAY I"VE SEEN THIS TAUGHT!!!

  • GREAT VIDEO! SUPER SIMPLE GOOD BASICS.

  • "Big conference of Rhodes scholars..." LOL

  • Someone else might have mentioned this, but don't forget to be doing everything you can to get to cover so that a) you're in cover, duh and b) if your weapon does jam you can get out the line of fire while you clear the malfunction. No sense in exposing yourself to fire any more than you have to, but especially when incapable of firing back!

  • i heard that this is common, and is the case with my wilson 1911; the magazine cannot be stripped without locking the slide back. but you were able to do it with the 1911 in this video.

  • Fantastic video...clear, concise, and thorough. Thumbs up!

  • this man is jewish right

  • I'm a first time handgun owner. 63 yrs of never owning a gun, until the night I was *sure* someone was in my house. Fortunately I was wrong. However I've been reading about clearing 'under fire' situations and did a google for tap, rack. This is EXACTLY what I needed to find! Thank you!

  • great video!

  • excellent video. fantastic. simple right to point no BS.

  • This guy is badass.

  • I'm honored to have watched this video. I can never have enough trainning. Hats off to you Lion King...

  • @joeySiggs you're honored to have watched this video? lol

  • I thoght it was called...Tap..Rack and Roll....oh well. Tap, Rack, Bang. okay.

  • HERE HERE!!! CHEERS TO THIS VIDEO

  • Outstanding! Very helpful. Question: Is there a way to tell if a FTF is a squib round and there is actually a bullet in the barrel? Obviously, tap, rack and fire would be dangerous if the barrel was obstructed.

  • Wow! intentional stovepipes- repeatedly... and forced failures to retn to battery .... talk about expertise.

  • Or...just get a revolver

  • He is what is known as unconsciously competent. In other words, he does not have to think about what he is doing. He is in automatic mode when he is working with a gun. I would like to get there some day.

  • rofl i love this guy he is so cool and really knows what he's doing

  • amazing video!

  • He is the best how much would he charge? to train someone like his videos

  • lol " i love when i get double for my money " haha

  • lol " i love when i get double for my money " hahaha

  • As an engineer, I can't agree more with what's being said here. Fix the problem and move on as long as it's not prototype hardware with a design flaw. Well done. I can't tell you how many road scholars I see at the local shooting range. There are too many to count. Scary part is , most of them are Marines since I live in SD CA. A lifetime in the military does not equal childhood as a country boy. At least not when it comes to guns. If your gonna handle a machine, learn to handle it's problems.

  • great video !!!

  • WOW! Fantastic video, thanks!

  • Clean demonstration, clear explanation, really first rate. Thanks!

  • Clint is awesome!

  • credit needs to be given to fmg pubs for this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dude this guy is freaking awesome. I'd love to be trained by him.

  • Cool...good information.

  • love this guy

  • 4:18 He seems to instinctively push the bullet back.

  • @PocketDrummer Yes, you are right, he did. If you pay attention you can actually hear the round clicking back into the mag.

  • If I push the round toward the back of the mag and reinsert it just fine.

The problem seems to go as follows: Tap/Rack (round in mag is forced forward), eject mag, clear pistol, reinsert... round blocks mag from being inserted. The only way around this seems to be to push the bullet back before inserting the mag.

Is there a way around this?

  • I tried each of these with snap caps, and I noticed one problem (help me if you know why this happens)...

With the double feed issue, after the initial tap-rack sequence, the slide forces the round in the mag forward. After you pull the mag out, clear the weapon, and reload the mag, it fails to seat the magazine. I try smacking it a bit harder, but it doesn't seem to matter. Upon ejecting the mag, I noticed that the round is very far forward. (Cont...)

  • @PocketDrummer

I know this problem from my blank p99 (sounds stupid but it's the same)

If you rack the slide while you have a double feed, the slide will pull the first round out of the magazine slightly...

I cannot insert the magazine unless I feed the round all the way back into the magazine...

I don't know if it's a magazine or a feed ramp problem, but like you see in 4:14 he pushes the round back in the magazine to avoid that problem.

  • awesome vid!

  • Stupid question, we had this tube feed .22lf semi. It fails to fire, we rack it back and it fails to eject, what should I have done? We droped all the ones in the tube but the one on the ramp was stuck. I'm not making this up ethier.

  • Sweet! Before we get to this place I pray GREAT AWAKENING IN JESUS NAME!

Nevertheless, we must be prepared! Keep an eye on UN Treaty that will attempt to do away with 2nd Amendment. NO treaty overrides the U.S. Constitution. We will not submit to the UN American nations.

  • you are doing a great service. I had my first jam and really didn't have the first clue how to clear it. Luckily, my intuition told me to take the magazine out and rack it. But now I know exactly what to do.

    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

  • Great info. Favorited, and will be sure to share it with friends.

  • Great video, terrible analogies.

  • lol...everything he said makes sense....good vid

  • this guy is awesome :D

  • TAAAAAAP, AND RAAAAAACK

  • Thank you for uploading the great video. It was very helpful and informative.

  • are those guns that you just happen to have that you know jam?

  • @EB8301

He staged each of these jams, idiot.

  • @GeneralMazaki

oh okay thanks for the update AssClown!

  • @EB8301

    No problem.

Oh hey, our of curiousity... Since you think Sig Sauers, Glocks, and Colts jam all the time... What am best handgun?

  • best spent 6 minutes of my life. I love how he talked about the range scholars, very true. Awesome vid.

  • "Don't overengineer it, don't IBM it, don't MIT it, and don't all go for a Road Scholar in malfunction clearances, okay? Just tap, rack, it will or it won't, if it won't, unload it, reload it, and it fixes it!"

    THIS GUY SPEEKS DA TROOF

  • THIS GUY IS THA TRUTH!!!!!!!!!

  • they usually beat up the magazines and use bad ammo

  • Great video...now time to go practice.

  • he didnt seed the magazine all the way on purpose first i think, second as you could see he purposely put brass in the chamber, 3rd he chambered two bullets in each pistol
