I cannot do the jump at 6;05 from the rope ... god I tried 15 times and I can't ..i dont seem to find a way to make her jump backward and catch herself...

I'm facing problems in this level. How come you have so many health packs :O ?? Anyway, I can't seem to control the grapple jump very well and I'm using a game-pad. Any ideas-directions? Because I lost a lot of health fighting the mummies (DAMN THAT WAS HARD!) I think TRA is one of the most difficult TRs I've ever played, and I've played them all!

@sakopilo That's because I picked up all health packs (all but 2 in Peru), and because the game has plenty.

As for the grapple issue, I've never played this with a gamepad so I have no idea what could be wrong, especially since the jumps in this video are straightforward. If your problem is with the jump that takes place at around 6:05, just make sure you adjust the camera the same way (facing the wall) before you jump, and jump back.

@SenorCojonazos Trust me it isn't you!!! I just hope someday Sony will wake, fix the analog numb on the PSP and put ANOTHER ONE ON THE SYSTEM!!! Great playthrough, TRA is definitley one of the best Tomb Raiders, second to Tomb Raider: Legend IMO! The older games before that one are so unplayable (fun) it makes me sick!

the new versions of the TR didn't interest me much until TRA came through.... I must admit this is the greatest remake of the original TR.... but I still love the old ones... hope they would remake the rest of the TR series too..... BTW awesome walkthroughs!!!!

i am so close to finishing this level. i just can't do the bit where you swing and then jump backwards on to the collum. me wii remote just doesn't let her jump backwards. its so frustating.

Right, .. just a simple question really, I'm playing the 360 version and, the jump from the ladder to the ledge at the start of the video, the game will simply not let me jump backwards, I consistantly jump to the side. Any help would be appreciated, as its quite clear where to go, just the buggy as shitty engine won't let me do it.

If it's anything like the PC release, you don't need to press any direction key. Pressing 'jump' is enough. If not, adjust the camera first, then do the jump. The direction keys - or buttons for you I guess ;-) - are bind to the camera, not to Lara's position, remember? Should be easy enough.

Thanks for the quick response, I did manage it eventually but I still don't really know how.

After watching several of your videos its obvious that you're damn good at TRA but, I cant understand why you'd put the time in? What I mean is, the engine is so buggy, so much slow down etc that it really takes the fluidity out of it. Maybe its just the 360 version that suffers, if it is different on the PC I will have to give it a try.

Why did I took the time to record it? Because it's the best TR since TR4. I do a full run through it once a month or so. Just had to record one of those.

The engine is not that buggy. There are loads of people who don't know how to handle it, which is very different. There are a few bugs, but most (or all) games have them. Of course if you search hard enough, you'll find plenty of glitches but those turn out to be useful for time trials. :-)

And I agree, bullet-time moments don't belong in TR.

Blowing some steam off lol... Apart from being grabbed for a couple of secs by one of those winged creatures at the beginning of the S. of the Scion level, the whole Egypt run went by without a scratch but these guys here managed to beat the crap out of me. Forced me to use a health pack and then allowed me to kill them without even touching me. That gets me sort of pissed... :D

As long as you manage to position the camera correctly it's very easy to do.

Also if you made it this far and still didn't get the hang of these jumps it would be wise to go to the manor's gym and practice there for a bit until you nail it down. Only 2 of these jumps left until the end of the game but if you miss them you'll die and that can be frustrating. That would be my advice because considering the camera problems you're having the great pyramid will be a tough bit for you. Prepare...
