It happened because the developers took out a lot of furniture from the Japanese game when they were making the English one. So they put in a dummy furniture in place of the would-be Japanese furniture. Fortunately, they kept the Japanese furniture now.

zombi1222: Keep trying. It doesn't show up very often. But the game they're playing makes a difference. The game in this video is a good one because they tell you the items before you have to put money down. The game where they offer 5 items is pretty good too. If it's one of the other games, I would just forget it and come back another day.

Action Replays work! Try the action replay for a lucky cat or any other Japanese-only item (shirts don't count) and it will show up in you pockets as eg. lucky black cat, but in your house it shows up as DUMMY!

I know this because when I had AR, I tried my hardest to get a lucky cat and it showed up as DUMMY! XD
