@aldrum420 nah. F-Zero is just as fast. /watch?v=OYtN4poigAs The main difference is the track in F-Zero is 2-3 times wider than in WipEout which makes WipEout a lot more exciting. That, and WipEout has such a polished art style. Would be interesting to see a modern take on the F-zero series since it's kind of hard to really compare the series with WipEout HD vs F-Zero GX =P Until then though, WipEout HD is by far my favorite racing game.

@kyleandchristian I usually first listen the default soundtrack, then try the custom soundtrack. While playing Wipeout HD I've listened to Wip3out's and Midnight Club II's soundtrack. They both work well.

When playing Burnout Paradise I just turn off the licensed music and listen to the original soundtrack of first three games. Burnout 3's unreleased ost is amazing.

I once listened to MC2's ost while playing GT5 and that didn't end well. Don't listen to arcade game's ost while playing a sim.

The appeal of this game baffles me. It only gets near F-Zero GX speeds around 9 minutes or so, and at that point it's pretty clear that the clunky controls prove completely impotent at providing the extreme finnese required to race a craft moving at 1300+km/h.

But to each his own, I guess. If you find lethargically slow futurstic racers to be fun, my props to you, I guess.
