I agree with her to an extent -- but is she saying that if my house burns down or someone I love were to be in a horrible accident or something I'm supposed to say "That's great" ??? Doesn't seem reasonable in all circumstances...life happens and it's not ALWAYS great.

@eb497 Well try to look at it this way. Every experience has a purpose and as hard as it is you must try to re-frame it as an opportunity. That has been what I have been told many times over and I still struggle. I may never perfect this but I hope I get better with every passing moment. Especially during times of deep pain. Wish you peace and happiness.
