300 million was hardly noticed by Arnall. He was worth 3 Bn. He did 50 Bn in subprime lending by 2005 that was largely fraud which was securitized by Lehman that both knew would explode the US economy with the help of Mozillo & the other lge banks. Arnall bought off ACORN & neutralized other consumer agencies. Arnall took on the Gov. of Georgia & got him out. Cheney, the de facto president, superseded ALL US STATE LAWS against predatory lenders in 2003. R/E is lobby protected.

oh and is there something wrong with people making money? also ACORN forced congress to give out loans to customers with bad credit--unfortunatley many banks took advantage of that. Now Ameriquest also gave the Democratic party 1 Million dollars --how come you dont mention that?--hmm me thinks you are a socialist.
You can thank these lenders for screwing all those people, when they gave out those loans, they knew the client couldn't afford the ARM mortgage in a year or 2 ( when it adjusts). They made a nice fat commission & moved on to the next guy. I had a friend who worked @ Ameriquest while this was going on & he was making between $18,000.00 - $22,000.00 a month, basically screwing people. He is now out of a job.
Yes these lenders screwed everybody, and unfortunately, are some of the key players in the financial crisis. Sub prime folks like Ameriquest, New Century sold terrible products, screwing people, Wall Street bought them and then screwed pension funds, banks, sophisticated investors, foreigners...they got screwed...biggest schillers of these packaged CDOs, Citigroup, Merrill, Bear Stearns, Lehman, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. Lost trillions, more to come...taxpayer, children are screwed...
Nothing. The greater problem which I am trying to make aware of is the TOTAL PREDATORY nature of lenders in this country. From mortgage companies to banks, it is indeed disgusting. Awful, predatory, corrupt.I have consulted on Countrywide Mortgages, greed and dishonesty-it is just another form of stealing from middle and lower classes. It is not just Ameriquest, all roads lead back to Wall Street, deregulation, Alan Greenspan, an inept Fed,stupid politicians and the greed of man. It's trajic.
Yes, saw Roland passed in the WSJ.He is with God now. But man made billions out of suffering, and only gave away $20 million to charity, a pittance when you are worth over $3 billion. Oh well, I hope he rests in peace as the country tries to untangle the mess he helped create.
