  • who can dislike this?

  • wow! Didn't know Frank covered this one too!

Love the desolation & credibility of his voice in his tender rendering here - nice!! ☆〜

  • stop comparing artists, its just dumb

  • The Voice.

  • @Fili2009able .. yes,.. u are right.... thx..

  • when youve loved and lost like Frank has then you know about life.Kpeach

  • This is rather good...my mother was a big fan of Frank Sinatra...I'm not sure he was the best singer of his day, but he sure knew how to handle a song....a particular favourite of mine is 'Something Stupid'...

  • this is an english translation of song by jacques brel

  • Kazantzidis of America.

  • Such artists are ever living

  • anyone else think he looks like bruce willis in that picture?

  • hes a legond ...... this man is a lagend ,that wont get repeted .... no men like franki <3

  • @natalie2528 ... u need spelling lessons.... lol gr8 tune though

  • RIP my Missy ... can't believe it's been 4 years already ... seems like just yesterday .

  • A song like this should be sang in French, English is too brutal for love songs, nevertheless Sinatra does a fair job.Too americain for my taste.

  • 09/01/11 NO ONE CAN COMPARE WITH THE INTERPRETATION OF LYRICS LIKE FRANK SINATRA. thanks for posting. a life long SINATRA fan who was a bobbysoxer in the audience when he sang in New York Paramount theatre. roselli

  • I love the drama of this song.

  • Esta música precisa de muita emoção do interprete. Sinatra é grande , mas ficou devendo.

  • Hey Ford!

Thank you so much for your time in uploading all those Frank Sinatra songs, I am a big fan of him!! I was just emailing you to give you the advice of changing your background to another lighter frank sinatra background, because it is very hard to see the text.

    Thanks for you time,

    TheVaio

  • Damn, I had forgotten this performance. A mature. whiskey, smoke filled voice that has seen and lived life. Therefore, can relate the message.

  • I love this song. It's so different from the majority of Sinatra's songs (all of which are friggen amazing) but this one... God, you can hear the pain in his voice that so many of us have felt... it gave me the chills and brought a tear to my eye. Beautifully done. Get it Frankie!

  • What draft dodger removed my comment???

  • IF YOU GO AWAY live at Violetta Villas Show

  • Ne me quitte pas.....

  • I'D HAVE BEEN THE SHADOW OF YOU DOG, IF I THOUGHT...

  • This makes a perfect pair with Dusty Springfield's version.

  • Αξέχαστο.... διαχρονικό..... ανεπανάλυπτο...απεριγραπτο!!!

  • @agelnik ,καλυτερο απο το πρωτοτυπο !!!.

  • Bullshit - Perry Como is much better !!!!

  • Most amazing how Sinatra could lower the pitch to a bare bass .. amazing singer ...

  • You are so right. I sing lots of Frank Sinatra, Mr. blue eyes

  • Just think if he had not had flat feet, he would've probably got shot by a german or a jap.

  • WHOW FRANK !

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • The resonance and depth of emotion in his voice here is extraordinary........

  • nothing stuns us into reality like losing someone we took for granted.

  • I'm not a Sinatra expert but I think that vocally this was his greatest period. His voice had got a little ragged but he still had the projection and he has all the experience and that lifelorn quality - a life of regrets...

  • @alfagtvjan Absolutely! In fact, Sinatra's greatest assets throughout his career were his masterly phrasing and his impeccable enunciation (despite the occasional blurt of New Jersey accent!). It is as if the man sang and ACTED each and every song that he recorded.

  • Beutiful voice, but these lyrics don't have nothing to do with the original.

  • song forever..

  • Love it <3

  • a great singer singing a great song..That's all I can say!

  • Sinatra was a past master, greater than a legend, mainly due to the fact you could feel the effort, precision and timing he put into each performance.

  • Emiliana Torrini has a chilling version of this.

  • this sounds as if a man with a great voice had been given a sheet of paper with the lyrics and would've been told to perform, there is no passion, sorry!

  • I think this particular ballad calls for restraint, and Frank wisely took that approach.

  • Head and shoulder above all the other versions (at least those here in the tube). I don't know whether Sinatra heard the original (I suspect he purposedly didn't) but his version clearly ignores Brel's rendition. So he doesn't overemphasizes the already emphatic lyrics with sighs, cries and what else like all the other performers do. He's also the only one who "sings" the song from start to end, without allowing himself to "act" the song. (In this regard, the Dietrich version is nightmarish).

  • This is good but I have to say that I think Shirley Bassey's version is better.

  • Υπέροχο!!!!! :-(

  • Sometimes - specially when i hear this song by him - i like to think that he was the best male singer of all times.

Even better than legends like Elvis, Andy Williams, Tom Jones, etc.

This is what a legend is!

  • @Thorneycroft1937 I agree with you.

  • @Thorneycroft1937 You got that right. What a voice. And, while people knew better than to get on Frank's bad side, most people spoke of him as one of the sweetest, most thoughtful individuals they'd ever met. He was a class act.

  • SINATRA IS THE BEST NO ONE WILL EVER COME CLOSE.

  • @DomenicSinatra Except for the original, the one and only Jacques Brel.

  • @DomenicSinatra what bout streisand

  • @chugo312 LOL

  • @DomenicSinatra I disagree, Brendan Perry has surpassed him

  • ur an angel

  • love it :((((

  • masterpiece

  • @Nhsgia Indeed it is!

  • This has got to be the most heartfelt song I've ever heard by Sinatra, please don't go away........

  • oscar benton version is better this one is also fine :D very good song ;)

  • @csskafa I hope your not talking about some sound like mix version of this song. It is not suppose to have a fast back beat. This is a sad then hopeful song that leads up to a finally. Just my opinion but can't find anyone who puts more feeling in this song than Sinatra!!!! he hold those notes till the very end
