  • I bought one of these. Can't recommend it - awkward, bulky, has delicate wiring, feels flimsy and lacks function (like turning it off), but - in fact - it doesn't work at all! Hours spent dis- and re-assembling to no avail. They grudgingly sent a replacement dynamo part. Many hours of tryng later, that didnt work either! They won't give a refund and cost of postage. Forget about this thing - total waste of money.

  • can you fit these onto smaller wheels?

say erto 406 and 349 sized wheels such as found on folding bikes and recumbents.

  • looks good, perhaps a bike computer could be incorporated into it? or perhaps a phone charger using the new standard micro-USB connector. this could prove to be a very popular device in africa if it was affordable enough.

  • This is a magnet to magnet gearing up system,(not a magnet to coil system) when your bike ride in a speed of 15Km/Hour=112rpm of the wheel, the generator gear-up to 1792rpm, not like a magnet to coil system which is sensitive to magnet-coil distant(current induced is inversely proportion to distance), generate much more power than

other system while easy to fit onto the wheel, the magnets are sealed in plastic ring, it is not a metal ring , see also magnetic coupling video, Michael

  • isnt this the same as mounting a magnetic BRAKE to your wheel?

..and you can even turn it off!

also: think of the weight and bulk.

maybe one can combine it with an hydraulic brake someday - at least you already got that metallic ring on the wheel - why not just add some magnetic qualities to it to power a coil.
