Lightning is NLP/Eriksonian/Hypnosis. It can be dangerous for Canadian Definition organic ME; so many have relapsed. The "Are You Ready" line is an old sales 'hook' used to sell Personal Growth courses. Lightning also exploits altered states and hypnotic suggestion, creating compliance, with subtle manipulation of peer pressure. Parker dismisses all informed criticism of his methods and marketing. Parkers heavy marketing with sleight of word and mind, is obvious to veterans of mind methods.

In the UK (in the CBT clinics also) people have been diagnosed with CFS on the presence of fatigue alone. But fatigue is not Canadian Definition or WHO ME. Encephalomyelitis means brain inflammation. Do you not see the difference between 1. Organic illness with early diffuse brain injury and 2. Stress/anxiety with fatigue? The first is typical Neuro ME. The UK CFS diagnosis uses only VERY limited exclusion tests - no scans - the patients could have anything. We need the Canadian Criteria.

you're correct, or rather 1 third correct..severe CFS/ME is hormonal (thyroid probs), immune system (candida & viruses), and nervous (stress etc)..and yes mold in the gut is what candida is..and it can be central or 1 of the 3 severe factors that make up this hell

It is true, isnt it, that not EVERYONE is successful at completing a course or putting what has been learnt on a course into practice whether it be learning Russian or how to be a doctor or indeed learning the Lightning Process. Sometimes people do their own version, or half do it and then when they get rubbish results often start blaming the teacher or themselves neither of which is helpful. Georgina's doing well - let's celebrate!

The above comment from Boluebottle83 is utter rubbish. I did the Lightning Process and got my health back after years of debilitating ilness due to ME. Phil Parker is one of the most compassionate and understanding professionals i met on my medical journey with the illness. He deserves an OBE for his work with ME sufferers. i have since met lots of other people who rid themselves of this awful illness thanks to Phil PArker's Lightning Process.

My remark is not rubbish, it is the truth.We are never told, in all these promotions, of all those who have not miraculously recovered on the LP.If Mr Parker is so compassionate & saintly, why is the LP so outrageously expensive?

The LP isn't outrageously expensive. It isn't funded yet by the NHS so it can't unfortunately be give for free. The people who teach and train it are dedicated people and deserve to earn a living. They are regulated by the LP register and have to undergo continual professional assessment and are subject to insurance etc., all of which has to be covered. In comparison with private healthcare, the LP is not expensive. Some practitioners also offer schemes for people on benefits.

Two of my local M.E. group have been put into major relapses as a result of doing the Lightning Process; they have also wasted huge sums of money. Insisting that participants increase activity levels without first addressing the underlying viruses, bacterium, parasites and mitochondrial function and heart damage is irresponsible and dangerous. It could lead to death.
