I did not like the new packaging on Tropicana. It was hard to read and did not stand out in the store. I'm glad they are going back to the old design.
Ha ha ha, they're talking about how they walked right past Tropicana without noticing it. That's pathetic. I guess branding does work... but not if you keep your head screwed on straight!
I bought some Tropicana juice in the new container just last night. "Huh," I thought, "they changed their design. Cool." And I shrugged, picked up the container, and didn't think about it again. It's still the same juice. Why do people let themselves be so susceptible to advertising?
You're right -- good point. I should rephrase. Why don't people try harder to avoid being susceptible? I did, and enjoyed some very good grapefruit juice as a result :-)
I think it's smart, in general, to avoid influence from advertising until you try to see it in the most objective way you can. Obviously it's not possible all of the time, but it's good to try.
