I think the point of the video not making any sense, is to have to viewer focus on the talent of the band, and the message that they are trying to get across (rather than having money, explosions, fancy cars, etc. that take away from what the songs about.)

The examples you just gave are not demonstrated by Christ, they're in books in the Old Testament which are 'Law books' outlining the old law for the Jews. Jesus is about treating the person next to you as yourself regardless of if their gay, Muslim, Jewish, a murderer, homeless, obese, obnoxious, etc. Christ is pure love, nothing less. Find something wrong with that

But that's what this very video, and many others like it, are dealing with. In the gospels Jesus doesn't mention hell or how the earth was made or how everything is logically possible. All He talks about is loving God and loving the person beside you. He spoke of these things because that's all that matters. I can't explain Adam and Eve, no-one can...

@Davegameplayer97 , what's the point? We can question it yes but it doesn't define Christianity. Jesus wants us to love one another regardless of if we're fearful of hell, sin or where we came from. Instead of looking at all the bad things the Church has done, look to the homeless shelters, the faith based charities, the medical organizations, the care homes, the years of selfless sacrifice, the soup kitchens, etc. Christianity has done an awful lot of bad but it's also done an awful lot of good

Many Christians only practice what Jesus taught, which was, essentially, to love your neighbor as you would yourself and to help the poor. Yes, Christianity, like every religion, has done very bad things, but Christianity has done some good. It gives people comfort. It's false comfort but it's still comfort.

I just wish Christians would stop quoting the Old Testament when they want to justify some bigoted stance they have (anti-gay marriage, etc.) Too many times have I been debating a Christian who's against gay marriage and they quote the Leviticus passages on it, but then they turn around and say "The Old Testament isn't relevant" when I use it against them. Note that the man who gets jilted in the trade is a priest, and he wants to make sure that something isn't released from the church, so that's why he sends henchies after the guy with whom he traded briefcases. Note the lyrics: "I won't stand for this/This can't be the body You spoke of" It seems like they are criticizing the church for forgetting how to love. Hope this helps. God bless.
