  • La différence de richesse de vocabulaire entre l'anglais et le français ouaw !

  • where is the tranny?

  • "English language is a shotgun : the shot is dispersed. The french language is sniper rifle, shooting with accuracy" Otto von Habsburg

  • @MrGorfreeman then came the french canadians XD

  • @JadeOfEscarcha Assault rifle

  • my god english is the best language.. i DO like this though.

  • FABIO GROSSOO!!!!!!!!!! A CASAAAAA!!!! SIAMO I CAMPIONI DEL MONDOOOOO!!!!! POOOPPOPPOPPOPOOPPOOOOOPPOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  • Traduire est ma passion, et franchement je voud dis Chapeau. Excellente traduction en anglais. Merci de partager.

  • Very cool. In swedish Alan-a-dale is called "Allan i Dalen" (Allan of the valley) and Little John is called Lille John.

  • Adam de la Halle is a real person of the 13th Century ; it was a sort of ministrel. In modern words, an Halle is a market, but in the middle-age this word was only a name (and wasn't affiliated with a market or something like that).

That's why the translated name of the roosted is so strange ^^.

  • the translations are so funny!

  • French <3

  • @equazionedifferenzia I think these two are the best versions!

  • fat sheriff XD

  • "scamper off" for the 4), but your translation is good too

  • on the 4) i would have written something more like "flee as fast as your feet allows you" but that would be a little too long. Nice translation.

  • like the voice :)

  • Oh-de-Lally , Oh-de-Lally

Aaah ,bon souvenirs ,robin des bois :)

  • auch gut in französisch :-)

  • Trop chouette se moceau... que de souvenirs!!! ;)

  • J'adore cette chanson <3

  • Oh-de-lally (French with TRANS.)

la dice lunga su questo popolo XD

  • Sembra che la canti un frocio.. è tristissima!

  • Concordo!

  • x"D

  • ils font plaisiiiiiiiiiiiiiiir =)

  • I love this version, but...why did they translate Little John in Petit Jean?? O.O

  • Because that's the perfect translation in French :P

  • this is simply his name in french : ) Like in english you translate Jeanne d'Arc in Joan of Arc

  • @kurtofan Non ce l'est pas son nom cest Robin des bois.

    pas petit jean.

  • Yes I think so :) in french we call him Petit Jean and not Petit John :)

John is not a really a french name that's probably the reason why we translated in Jean...

    Nice song :)

  • @GinTurin89 Think. Robin Hood is a legend and a written story before this Disney cartoon. Of course it's Petit Jean in French from there...

  • @AuxaneD That is bs this is not robin hood lol

in french robin hood is Robin des Bois.

    LOLL

Whoever replyed you didnt knew what he was talking about.

  • i was in love when i was child!!! robin hood <3<3<3

  • Tout à fait d'accord!! He's so handsome ❤ Kisses to all the disney fans out there :')

  • ahh jadore, merci XD

  • Que de bons souvenirs , c'est super , gros bisous !!!

  • lmao escape at top speed

  • You did a really good job on the translation. Those lyrics are quite difficult to translate.

  • not if you have seen it in english svarog40

  • actually medieval englishmen would have spoken in norman french

  • Indeed if they were nobles...

  • top speed is god if it was directly translated it would be very akward

    you did a gret job

  • megali malakia

  • C'est bon!

need to work on your french tho

cuz quite frankly ur horrible :)

  • who are you telling to work on their french?

  • joke

  • lol "flee at top speed" xD nice singing though!

  • "Filent à toutes jambes", escape with all haste is a good translation. Quick question, does this literally mean, "flee with all legs"? or something along those lines. I'm just unusually interested in the expressions of different languages, it helps to understand their mentality better, i think

  • Yes, approximately. Actually, "à" doesn't exactly means "with", but there isn't any precise translation for this word, so "with" is okay.

  • ya it kinda is but don't it sound akward my eglish is still a little off gomenasia

  • THOSE AREN'T THE WORDS TO THE SONG!

    :( haha blasphemy.

  • "filent à toutes jambes"...

Isn't there an english expression about "legs over shoulders" that could adapt this pretty good ?

    Sorry for my far-from-perfect english.

  • italian version rocks!!

  • Nice video, although i don't understand a word!

  • I prefer the italian version. But french sounds funny too :D

  • Actually Robin Hood is called "Robin of the woods" in french because "hood" and "wood" sound equal for frenchs ears. A better translation could be "Robin la capuche"... But it's not very nice to hear.

Cool song and video by the way ;)

  • It's not like they're stupid and can't tell 'hood' and 'wood' apart. 'Robin of the Woods' just makes more sense - even in English - than 'Robin Hood', and I think that's probably what the legends originally used.

  • I agree. "Hood" never made sense to me.

  • ha a slight change in the lyrics? and the voice doesnt fit the character at all. maybe i'm just too used to roger miller in the english version

  • something seem lost in translation?

  • I don't understand a word of if, but it sound nicer than the English version.

  • Yeah, but I'm french, and even me, I can't understand everything lol. I mean, they talk really fast...

  • i understand no word but like it^^

  • Ah, les souvenirs

  • way better in french but incredibly hard to learn

  • it sounds better in french

  • i love seeing my fav disney songs is different lanquanges and especially this one cause i can see how it translates

wish there were more like this...anyway thanks for uploading!

  • Love it! laissez les bon temps rouler!

  • Magnifique!! merci pour l'upload!! que de souvenirs!!!!!!!!!

  • Adam de la Halle (1237-1288) was a real mediaeval composer , who wrote a piece called "Le Jeu de Robin et Marion" (though his Robin and Marian are a knight and a shepherdess); it is believed that the association of Robin Hood with Maid Marian was suggested by the two different stories being played together in the old English May Games, where Marian was originally the May Queen.

  • Interesting, though I believe the minstrel character is known as Alan-a-Dale in the Robin Hood legends. At least the ones I've read, which I believe were the Howard Pyle versions.

  • For us, Marian is Marianne. Marian wouldn't be pronounced as Marian is pronounced in English in French... -an isn't the same as -anne.

  • ahhhh trop bien !!

  • énooorme!!

    toute mon enfance!!

  • j'aime bien aussi la version cd française^^

  • exellent

  • I'm glad that you didn't translate Adam De la Halle's name to "the open-air market." because Adam de la Halle was really a famous trouvere (like a minstrel) who wrote musical plays in the late 1200s including the story of Robin and Marion!

  • good to know, and funny that they used his name. thank you

  • oh thankyou!!! yay! pretty!!**starts square dancing**

  • i have no idea how i'm supposed to react

  • it's ok, i just thought it was interesting that they hvea it in Frenhc or French?

  • ahh okay.. is French, you'll see a red underline if you make a mispell something

  • huh?

  • if you misspell something, there will be a red underline underneath the misspelled word.

so when you type robni instead of robin, there will be a red underline beneath the word to tell you that you've spelled it wrong

  • here, or on the word processor thingy?

  • in the box where you type ur messages

  • ok.

  • okay then

  • oh yeah thanks for telling me that(yay i spelled "that" rigth!)!!

  • ur welcome

  • hmm, nope.. goths are different from emos

    similar though

  • i was wrong although you did say they wre similiar.

i got to go lie down, my immiune system is down and i got a cold.

  • okay.... is cold all you've got?

  • yeah but what a regular cold is too someone can become worse than a flu to me because of my immune system is so low.

  • then sleep longer, get some rest, drink milk..

that should help and improve your immune system a LOT!

  • yeah hey wait don't torture me!!!!!!!!!

  • torture you??

  • i can't have milk!!!!!!!!!

  • oh.. take vitamins then

  • yeah i do, although there not strong even though there the special ones. the reason they ain't strong is the stuff i'm allergic to is in most vitamins and the stuff i'm allergic too makes it stronger, well that's what i'm told anyway.

  • dang!! ur allergic to a lot of things

  • yeah and chlorine too! hopefullly ill be able to have more foods in a couple of months though i took a sugar diet for 6 weeks not including the 2 week die off! the doctor said i have to much yeast in my body most likely and hopefully taking care of that will help(in the fact that i won't be so allergic to things!)!

  • ??? goths are a groups of germanic peoples :)

    it's very different from emos

  • nuh-uh

  • ...I have to agree with ya on that.
