The very firdt move was taking the f6 knight with the bishop. Wouldnt taking with the knight be way more effective? After black takes, Qh5 and there is no good defense other then h6. In wich case the other knight fals with Bxg6,fxg6 and Qxf6+. Am i missing something?
thanks for your great videos. i really enjoy them.
i replayed this one with rybka and this engine found a different first black move. Qe7 instead of Qe8. I went on playing the moves from capablanca and it showed, what a really big difference this first different move makes since the king later has an escape-square on e8. the advantage rybka gives is at this moment only 0.90... did you also look at this variation. as i said, i found it very interesting what i big difference comes out...
This series about the art of attacking are simply amazing. I'm subscribed to a couple of chess channles here on youtube, but none of them can compete with these great, great lessons. Keep up the good work.
Nice introduction on different approaches to study. I agree that it is good to focus on one area for a while instead of jumping around. When I was 16 I went through all the pawn endings presented in the book Batsford Chess Endings (a large tome) over the course of my summer holidays. I still rely on that knowledge some 17 years later! At the moment I am practicing calculation for a while every evening. Your videos are helping me to practice! Thanks for the video.

I was wondering about the best King move Kxf7 - after pondering a while I consulted Rybka3
Kf6 is best - thoug the position is lost anyway
and as a first move rybka gives after a minute Bxf6 - conclusion: Capa was using Rybka in 1900 !

I just got a copy of the Vukovic book earlier today. Along with Capablanca and Nimzowitsch's works, I have my year of reading to look forward to.
Best wishes.

Interesting. I had a look at this yesterday. Yes Qe7 is an improvement for black. But white can still get advantage by playing Nxg5 instead of Qxh6.

After Nhxf7 what would happen if Black tried fxg5? Does White play Nxg5 and then follow with Qh5 and f5?

Great vid Majnu - I wasnt able to come up with the Capablanca line, though it seems so clear after seeing his continuation. Thanks again.
