something that u guys never mention about fedors only loss is that he lost that due to a cut. the league he was fighting in AT THAT TIME. the rule was that if u got 1 cut anywhere, you lose.
That wasn't the rule the ruling was since there was a tournament Fedor couldn't continue with the cut so they declared the other guy the winner so the tournament could have a champion. If it wasn't tournament it would have been declared a no contest since the cut was caused by an illegal elbow. Some people love the idea of one day tournaments I however find it barbaric and doesn't prove if 1 fighter is better if 1 is fresh and the other is winded although they do make for great entertainment

Well the thing is that Fedor Emelianenko is by far the best fighter in world of MMA. And he has nothing to prove. It's Brock Lesnar who knows that he won't ever be considered the best in the world if he won't defeat Emelianenko. people will see a transiton from tehse type of fighters to much more well rounded fighters shown in america; furthermore, many fighers, fedor included, have no interest in being popular in america or being the ufc, as they get paid as much or more closer to where they live and in less controlling organizations; im not implying that these fighters "don't" wnat to fight or be popular in america or ufc but are indifferent and want it on their own terms

You misunderstood my post completely; I didnt say the UFC didn't have contenders. They have the deepest pool of contendersI just said not "all" top contenders are in the UFC, many UFC fighers, (obviuosly not including Silva and GSP), are wrestlers who can punch hard. suarez85, you've got the logic of P4P correct but you listed the wrong fighter as #1. Anderson is a natural LHW who is a borderline HW as he walks around at 220lbs. He fights basically 2 weight classes below his natural weight. Fedor on the other hand is 232lbs which is only 12lbs heavier than Anderson yet Fedor fights 2 entire weight classes above Anderson. Fedor is outweighed in nearly every fight but Anderson has only been outweighed once in his entire career and it was to Forrest.
I totally agree. Anderson's natural weight is only 20 pounds less then Fedor's (235 vs 215), meaning that Fedor could loose a few pounds and a fight between them could easily be arranged. Anderson has amazing accuracy and swiftness, but Fedor just has unparalleled throwing and punching power, and better submission skills. Fedor will probably take him to the ground and finish it there. However Silva might be the second greatest P4P fighter competing today.

Have to disagree man. i think he is the best mma fighter of all time, and still without a doubt top three p4p in any rankings. Silva is amazing, same with gsp, but when going for best fighter i still picture silva tapping to chonan and sera knocking gsp. Fedor has never been beat and until he is he is the best.

Anderson Silva has cleaned out his division -Belfort whereas Fedor isn't even close. The level of competition Anderson Silva has consistently beaten is greater than Fedor even the greatest Fedor fan in the world should admit this. Honestly keep going back and clinging on to the past everyone knows there is no middleweight out there that can hang with Anderson Silva its a given whereas we don't know how Fedor will match up with the other heavyweights since the only great up and comer he's faced gave him a good pounding and I am finding that Brett Rogers is being vastly overrated by many people he is not a top 5 fighter today he has a basic ground game and great stand up.
However Fedor gets the utmost respect from me because he makes some of these fighters' strengths look like their weaknesses. Brett Rogers probably felt comfortable that he was gonna beat him standing up but got to sure of himself that he didn't stay aggressive in the 2nd round and Fedor capitalized on it.
Tim Sylvia probably never even trained much stand up because he had to work on his ground game and Fedor ends up knocking him silly before choking him out.
But with that being said I THINK he's #1 I don't KNOW if he's #1 and its gonna stay like that until he beats every top heavyweight out there like GSP and Anderson Silva have done with their divisions. Not many people, out of fans I spoke with anyway, realized that that was the first time Fedor fought in a cage and not a ring with ropes when he fought Rogers. That is one reason why he was pressed against the cage a bit more than normal but he still handled it well and will/should get better with time. Remember how Cro Cop really seemed to struggle in the cage setting and it has really taken a toll on his career IMO. Fedor is the best heavyweight IMO but NOG looked really good against Randy too
yea not only was it his first cage fight, but it was also rogers holding the fence when he had fedor pressed up against it (preventing fedor from reversing it into a submission). the whole fight all you heard was the ref telling rogers to let go of the fence.. until ofcourse, fedor knocked rogers the fuck out! fedor is king, he will learn the cage soon enough.
Fedor and Lesnar would be a great match. Would be interesting to see it if Lesnar got top position on Fedor because Fedor has thee best armbar from his back in the game. You misunderstood my post completely; I didnt say the UFC didn't have contenders. They have the deepest pool of contendersI just said not "all" top contenders are in the UFC, many UFC fighers, (obviuosly not including Silva and GSP), are wrestlers who can punch hard. They are still good fighters but its not like everyone in the UFC is better than people outside it. Also I dont think fedor cares about being the undisputed best. I think GSP and Silva are #2 and #3 pound for pound in the world; There are great fighters at the top in the ufc; all ufc fighers are "good" but until recently (last few years) the majority have been wrestlers that can punch hard. Who are these "best" that he's missing? Lesnar has won literally one serious fight; it took him two rounds to take out a Randy Couture who was outweighed by 40 pounds and he split with a Frank Mir who only beat Noguiera fresh out of the hospital. Lesnar's all hype at this point; well, hype and diverticulitis. So there are a couple of one-dimensional wrestlers out there. When you're the best, they should come to you. You shouldn't sign your career away to PPV when you are the best.

suarez85, you've got the logic of P4P correct but you listed the wrong fighter as #1. Anderson is a natural LHW who is a borderline HW as he walks around at 220lbs. He fights basically 2 weight classes below his natural weight. Fedor on the other hand is 232lbs which is only 12lbs heavier than Anderson yet Fedor fights 2 entire weight classes above Anderson. Fedor is outweighed in nearly every fight but Anderson has only been outweighed once in his entire career and it was to Forrest.

I totally agree. Anderson's natural weight is only 20 pounds less then Fedor's (235 vs 215), meaning that Fedor could loose a few pounds and a fight between them could easily be arranged. Anderson has amazing accuracy and swiftness, but Fedor just has unparalleled throwing and punching power, and better submission skills. Fedor will probably take him to the ground and finish it there. However Silva might be the second greatest P4P fighter competing today.

Anderson Silva has cleaned out his division -Belfort whereas Fedor isn't even close. Silva and GSP are monsters, no doubt. However, both have loses. Fedor has 1 loss due to a doctor calling the fight and he destroyed the man in the rematch. Silva and GSP have both tapped out! If were being honest, P4P Fedor is King. He doesn't have to give into Dana White's demands and fight for UFC, besides Strike Force has a legitimate MMA talent pool and apparently pays better. Fedor is the greatest fighter in MMA today and would run through the heavy-weight division in UFC! Just ask BJ Penn

Honestly keep going back and clinging on to the past everyone knows there is no middleweight out there that can hang with Anderson Silva its a given whereas we don't know how Fedor will match up with the other heavyweights since the only great up and comer he's faced gave him a good pounding and I am finding that Brett Rogers is being vastly overrated by many people he is not a top 5 fighter today he has a basic ground game and great stand up.

However Fedor gets the utmost respect from me because he makes some of these fighters' strengths look like their weaknesses. Brett Rogers probably felt comfortable that he was gonna beat him standing up but got to sure of himself that he didn't stay aggressive in the 2nd round and Fedor capitalized on it.
Tim Sylvia probably never even trained much stand up because he had to work on his ground game and Fedor ends up knocking him silly before choking him out.

Not many people, out of fans I spoke with anyway, realized that that was the first time Fedor fought in a cage and not a ring with ropes when he fought Rogers. That is one reason why he was pressed against the cage a bit more than normal but he still handled it well and will/should get better with time. Remember how Cro Cop really seemed to struggle in the cage setting and it has really taken a toll on his career IMO. Fedor is the best heavyweight IMO but NOG looked really good against Randy too

Fedor and Lesnar would be a great match. Would be interesting to see it if Lesnar got top position on Fedor because Fedor has thee best armbar from his back in the game. I'm not knocking Brock, he's strong powerful and nasty, but he's only had a hand full of fights. Fedor has been in MMA for years and his record and wins over the fighters he's beaten speaks for itself. Once you do that, you will realize that Randy Couture is the most overrated mma fighter ever, and that brock lesnar is ufc champ because of promtion porpuses and not fighting skills. When let him fight 5-10 more fights to see if he is good or not. Telling of how good or bad he is, is just naiv.

ofc hes overrated, hes so popular because the ufc pushed him, he is charismatic guy who can sell the sport of mma very well. Thats why he pumped up for promotion purposes, just like Brock lesnar, both are very very overrated. They are stars for people in th USA but internationaly spoken, they are just some random fighters. Brock lesnar is like Bob Sapp, But sapp has much more fights under his belt than lesnar, and your point about wwe fighters doesnt makes any sense

Lesnar will never fight again. Steroids destroyed his liver and heart. Remember all gym rats to avoid steroids. Just take protein supplements but if you take too much you will destroy your liver.

Fedor doesn't need the UFC, the UFC need Fedor. The heavyweight divsion in really lacking, no disrespect to Brock but if he's cahmpion then it just goes to show how bad the division is, how many times will you see him make someone tap? He's just brute force and no ground game.

What about Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, Shane Carwin, Frank Mir, Big Nog, and Junior Dos Santos these are all top ten heavyweights and your saying its lacking? Get real buddy there's only 2 people missing and thats Fedor and Overeem THATS IT the heavyweight division is solid and better than any other MMA organization right now.

All Lesnar did was dominated 2 of the top 5 heavyweights in the division go ahead and talk about Randy Couture and Frank Mir I really don't get why there is so much hate on this guy as a legit top guy it makes no sense Brock Lesnar beat the best competition available to him which is what Fedor hasn't done and your commending him for dodging the UFC and fighting UFC rejects and a guy who beat a UFC reject? I didn't say it's because of Lesnar i made a point saying if he was champion it goes to show how bad the rest of the field is, if you had an ounce of intelliegence you would've cotton on to what i was saying. how has fedor dodged the UFC, Dana has disrespected the guy so many times in interviews so why should he go there?
The list of fighters you've named are bums, Carwin and Velasquez haven't fought nobody of great quality, and Mir is very overrated so how the fuck is it not lacking?

Cain Velasquez and Shane Carwin have beaten top competition Velasquez has dominated everyone he's fought including Ben Rothwell and Shane Carwin destroyed everyone in his path as well who is outside the UFC that is better than these guys? Guys who pad their stats against freak shows and guys who are shit fighters?

Name the top competition those two fighters have beaten? Mir is overrated, apart from the tko of Nog he is a really bad striker, his stamina is shit, he's got a decent ground game but he lacks the wrestling in his ground game, Fedor has it all and you cant deny it, he can win from practically any situation unlike most of the HW in the UFC, List me what are Fedor's weakness's in your opinion, i bet you he hasn't got many!!
