The stimuli in this case (the evolutionary pressure) was simply to move forward. Models who moved forward more than others were more likely to reproduce and proliferate in the simulation. Most models actually used all four limbs available to them. This one found a unique and rare method for throwing itself forward using heavy forelimbs, while balancing on the hind limbs. Just goes to show, you never know what you're going to get with artificial evolution.
