  • Bought The Tassajara Cookbook many years ago (not the bread book)then gave it to a friend, who cooks a lot better than me...It was a good cookbook for those who don't have trouble following a recipe....talked about taking care of your friends: your cooking utensils and the broom you use to cleanup the kitchen...alas, I think the broom as my enemy and utensils are fine until I see the mess they wrought, then I want to kick them to the curb

  • This is sums up my philosophy of food and cooking better than anything I've ever heard. Thanks for sharing it with us!

  • Funny reply. So typical, as if it reflects back on me for having real feelings. Try psychoanalyzing somebody else. There's a big difference between Zen and sitting around admiring this jerk.

  • You seem to be trying to discredit this cook person. You don't seem to be happy with what he's doing. If I understand the "real emotions" you are talking about, you seem to be angry about his ways. Sorry to hear that, still, why kicking someone who's not kicking you?

  • I just saw this movie. Ed Brown is a fool. He is a social misfit who just needs some flunkies, too much like a cult leader. He is to Buddhism what arm wrestling is to ballet. The philosophy of food is good, however. But this guy makes me sick to listen to.

  • Don't worry about the cook, he is just a cook. Try to find out what's making you feel so sick about it, the reason must be inside you. Chill.. show love.. the cook is OK.. just cooking :D
