Unreal how this country dedicated this story so much time in the papers and on TV. It really did cost so much time in regards to talking about what matters like Iraq, Afganastan, Knife crime etc. It shows you that this country is obessed with celebrity. 2 complaints had been made a week after this went out on podcast, then a paper reports it and we end up with 30;000+ complaints. It shows you, a alot of sad people in the UK. This would not of got a mention if it happend in the US.
Paul O'Grady basically summed up my feelings on the subject. I don't like what they did but the media coverage is way over the top and there are more important things going on in the world.
I think theres been too mch fuss about the radio show incident ...HOWEVER i still think Ross should get sacked regardless of the incident- hes not worth the 6 million the BBC pay him using our tv license fee...its a waste of money.
I think someone got on their soapbox at the NTA's...
I think thats the thing though, they can't handle the bigger situations like the credit crunch and knife crime so they pick out something highly ridiculous and focus all their attention fully on that.
Okay, so Russell Brand and Johnathan Ross made a prank call, yes it was out of order but at the same time someone possibly got stabbed to death - Lets move on.
That q from the 2nd reporter was stupid the show was pre-recorded he didn't ring him late at night at all...pity Russell resigned and that they didn't release the last podcast with oliver stone
I agree! I do like Russell and Jonathon, cos they are funny. BUT when Jonathon said that Russell has slept with Andrew's granddaughter, that was way too far! So I do forgive them for apologising. BUT again, when this was in a political debate issue, it's just too much!
Did one of the reporters say something about it being wrong to ring a man at that time of the night? Wasn't the show a pre-record from earlier on in the day?
on wikipedia is states that Paul O'Grady backs the pair, so he isn't saying he wants them to get sacked. he means let them apologize again and get on with their jobs. In my personal opinion people should chill out, also if anyone is to blame it wouldn't be the presenters fault, because it was pre-recorded, it is like making a film without the editors realising a major problem, but that wouldnt make it the actors fault
Well I hated the Russell Brand skit, it was a mean spirited attack on a delightful respected seasoned actor.
But he has apologised and resigned, and I respect him for that. The apology from him seems quite sincere.
The hypocritical thing is that the papers in the UK that keeping this story running are making this awful skit available to millions, and are the same ones whose paparazzi hounded Princess Diana to the end of her life, which all seems a more serious offence than his bad joke!
with paul what you see is what you get what a man well said sir paul ogrady
