I just don't see the reason for Americans to make a version of everyone elses movies. Is it just because they can't stand the thought of having to read the subtitles? Is it because they are too afraid to recognise the fact that other countries except the US can make good movies? I simply can't grasp it.

My point is that every time they remake any type of movie from anywhere, they crowbar american actors into the movie, not bothering how bad they fit. I don't mind remaking it with english language... Just don't wreck the whole setting of a movie.

Japanese version, THE ORIGINAL VERSION, is so much better than the crappy American version. The American version has dumb bimbos and the "creepy" ringtone sucks. The Japanese version was far more disturbing and creepy.

america can't really do scary as well as japan. they utilize silence and suspense alot better... with america you get typical "you know when you're about to be scared" scenarios with all that Hollywood lighting and acting to fog the reality and make it easier to handle. that said, I've seen some decent stuff lately.
