Actually Morocco was a country inhabited by Berber Christians until the Muslims invaded it and forced the Berbers to become Muslim. The Jews have been there as long or longer than the Muslims. The difference is the most of the Jews resisted Muslim attempts to convert them to Islam. I suppose this is the reason G_d chose the Jews to carry the proof of his existence in the Holy Scriptures around the world.
