  • hammer stimme geile gruppe bin voll begeistert gestern erst kennen gelernt

  • i love how the audience have been silenced under the magical powers that White Lies possess. i love them

  • Ohhh I can hear this one

  • at 3:40 it looks like he's crying. They 're so good. It is so real

  • jack <3

  • una de las mejores bandas de la historia para mi. this band is on of the best in the history for me

  • Love this song! Especially the part @ 1:25 - 1:36

  • Esta de huevos la cancion !!!

  • @urielbanks si loko esta cancion es de la putamadre y white lies es un grupaso

  • good song!!!

  • the lyrics is so amazing and powerful a pure joy for my mind.... " I looked in the mirrow but something was wrong, I saw you behind but my reflection was gone" .... thats just WOW! and all of their songs are like that, too good for this earth

  • I love White Lies.

  • think of the pressure on them, as its there tv debut and its broadcasted live... tbh id be shittin it aha!

  • ii lOve song ¡¡¡¡ :D

  • powerful BASS

  • he's so cute!

  • white lies drums are so good...

  • Awesome Its good that there are still bands like this around who can sing and play.

  • ok, so let's stop arguing about who's the best between M&S and WL... they are BOTH f*cking GREAT BANDS and while WL is the original thing M&S is doing a PRETTY GOOD rendition of this song... period

  • emotional or not he does look a prat spittin whilst singin and tht stupid face he pulls at the end lol. great performance still tho

  • @PBL187 Great performance.Cant imagine not pulling a stupid face singin that high.Im sure my face would be like a tomatoe covered in veins if i attempted it!!!!

  • Anyone know wat kinda bass charles is using here ?

  • @27steven94 fender jazz bass all black

  • @PBL187

    KooL stuff thanks

  • @DaddysLittleGirl4197 i know someone who does sound like a retard....

  • @Snakebloke nice comeback, I'm shaking in my shoes

  • @DaddysLittleGirl4197 good :)

  • The lyrics are great and all, but the singer sounds like he has down syndrome. mumford and sons cover of this song is unbelievably good, so i guess i can thank white lies for giving a much better band an opportunity to make a below average song something undeniably great.

  • @UnitedMorganism fuck mumford, little pricks

  • @WaveneyWolf you have your opinion and i have mine. douchebag.

  • @UnitedMorganism Mumford don't give the passion and emotion needed in the main chorus. Unfair to say he sounds like he has downs... his voice is perfect for this song, Needs passion and he has it.

  • Bassist writes the lyrics...awesome

  • 2:15 ; other bands can't hold themselves

  • he seems to be crying.. and i love it

  • @Frenchkids. Intimate gigs? I watched them play the Manchester Academy a couple of years ago, if that isnt an intimate venue then what is? mainstream or not mainstream, it cannot detract from a fantastic sound. Reminds me of Ian Curtis too.

  • great lyrics too.

  • 17th january !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @flyingwurststulle Amen to that

  • wow what a song! spectacular!

  • coldplay fix you intro

  • @noelchris it does sound like it...but fix you is a shit song compaired to this:)

  • ... For ME? - Yes... the best band I've ever heard.... and I'm 28.... Looking forward to their new Album.....

  • no one knows who these guys are in America. damn. im gonna have to tell my friends.

  • what a passion

  • Esta rola como me llega O.O y el sentimiento que le pone ouu... verlos en vivo cantar esa casi lloro aw!! son geniales y Harry muy guapo con una voz hermosisisisisisisisima <3

  • This voice ... pouahhh !!!

  • Harry seems to be getting emotional near the end, heavenly song

  • I'm melting when I hear harry's voice, WL is the best band, ever ♥

  • tommy should be a part official part of the band by now

    still love them to death

  • his deep voice and emotional performance reminds me of ian curtis

such a great band,so good that there are bands like this around and there is not just shitty commercial music

  • @aleTLSP I'm not attacking the band, but I think that the whole thing is commercially conceived. It's this huge arena rock sound; it's about playing to as many people in the biggest stadium as possible. Don't get me wrong, there's not anything necessarily wrong with that, but you'd have to say that it's commercial, if it's anything.

  • @frenchkids

r u saying that WL are a commerical stadium rock band?

  • @meakins8 I'm saying that they could be. They've already played some pretty large venues.. Stadiums are the logical progression.

  • @frenchkids but then that wud be sellin their souls, and they wouldn't be unique anymore, they would lose all that raw talent they possess.

  • @meakins8 Who says they're unique? You don't automatically lose your 'raw' talent just because you start playing big shows. Have Arcade fire lost there talent? Of course not. This band is already fully realised. The record label have invested a lot of money in them. The marketing drive for the release of their album was huge. They are a mainstream band; I'm not sure anyone can argue against that.

  • @frenchkids They really aren't a mainstream band, firstly they don't appeal to everyone, only a certain group of people in society, secondly they aren't a regular indie band, they're post-punk, something that is not abundant today, thirdly they're not even wellknown, they're highly underrated, most of my friends don't even know them

  • Comment removed

  • @meakins8 Haha. Not appealing to everyone doesn't mean you're an indy or 'post-punk band.' And by the way, the post -punk movement was by bands on independent labels, thus making them...indy bands. They are signed by a massive label and won a Q award. I think that says it all to be honest. They may have independent sensibilities, but the massive corporate marketing drive by their label suggests that they are seen as a pop band with a potential to sell out the 02 arena and shift 2M worldwide.

  • @frenchkids @frenchkids They might be signed to a big label but it still doesn't mean their mainstream. Arctic Monkeys are mainstream. Also, they sound better when they do arenas and smaller gigs. Have u seen them try to play at Glastonbury, it was still good but they lost a lot of their raw sound. Also, Arcade Fire have flopped now, they're nu album they tried to experiment n stuff n it was a fail.

  • @meakins8 Doesn't make a difference how good they were at Glastonbury. They don't play small gigs. They'll never play intimate gigs; their sound is driven towards being the biggest it can be. Arcade Fire's third record is fantastic. You didn't think so, and that's fine. You don't want a band that you like to be considered mainstream, but it's true. I'll leave you with this last thought. Their album went in at number 1 in the UK chart beating LADY GAGA in 2009. Doesn't sound very 'indie' to me.

  • @frenchkids lol u got me dere, im just sayin, a lot of ppl i know dont even no WL, it seems they produce music very different to what we hear today, thats what i like about them, I just dont want them to change their style too much.

  • @meakins8 *they're

  • still get goosebumps wen he sings the chorus the first time

  • i reckon ive watched this video over 100 times now =D

  • Emotion pouring out of him, thats how it shud be!!! Theres not enuf of that these days

  • Wow, so well performed....amazingly good song

  • tab for this song????

  • They killed this performance. One of the best songs = one of the best performances. Music is the purest form of entertainment, cant fake the emotions Harry McVeigh conveys.

  • This episode of Later meant so much for their success. They pretty much nailed this one.

  • Saw them last year in Philly at the Church and fell in love with them. They sounded better there maybe a another year of touring helped them

  • it sounds really bad at the end...

  • Looks like Harry is crying at the end... I fucking love WL

  • Nice, lyrics are just perfect.. Charles Cave writes nice poetry.. Harry sometimes misses a tune, like here.. I love WL. =)

  • what a feckin brilliant tune from start to finish, my fav tune of 2009

  • Frontman has so much positive energy =)

  • man i love this band

  • jack <3

  • beautifully cruel

  • more like Furniture - 80's band from London reminiscent of "Brilliant Mind"

    White Lies <3

  • they are amazing! powerful! :)

  • awesome song!!...white lies are just gonna get bigger and bigger!!

  • at the end, he kinds of breaks no?

  • He does break at the end, i think it makes the performance, stunning.

  • I totally agree, it's stunning

  • strange voice..

    cool song ;D

  • i think that harry voice is amazing i love it !!!

  • Great!!

  • the vocals cut right through the soul. excellent job.

  • I totally agree

  • Beautiful perfomance

  • they keep on being all stunna *shades 'n' rainbows*

  • seeing them on saturday, cannot wait....PHENOMINAL from what Ive seen

  • I reckon this song sounds better on cd then the version here.

  • pfft no way

  • Seen Them Yesterday As The Warm Up band at snow patrol in liverpool and have to say we have got something develliping here

  • This version is the best.

  • He looks a bit nervous.

  • wouldn't you be? I think I would die at his place. So many people listen carefully

  • Saw them opening for Glasvegas before Xmas, thought they were brilliant!

  • Sounds like the Editors and Interpol, but less boring.

    I like them :D

  • With a little bit of Snow Patrol in there as well, at least on the album version.

    Great band :)

  • With vocals that ring of Joy Division (most obviously). I'm with you on the Editors/Interpol comparison, too.

  • to be honest the majority of british guitar bands owe a massive amount of debt to Joy Division , they are one of the most influential bands of all time easily. Some bands just wear the influence that bit more such as white lies.

  • It seems to me that these guys grew up listening to a very different genre and tried to invent something their own. I don't think they understand the comparisons because it wasn't what they were striving for at all.

Don't get me wrong, I love Joy Division.

  • yea harry and the band hadnt even heard of joy divisoin before they did all this ,,, harry and the band are great x x fit as well x

  • Really good but think the vocals were a bit forced.

  • anyone have a bass tab for this? ive figured out few of the others but this is beyond me for some reason

  • some little like interpol.. or the editors.. :) but they are great :D is different.. but when i heard for first time.. i though was interpol.. or the editors.. but i was wrong :)

  • One of the best choruses this decade!!

  • Harry McVeigh is a dream front-man, like a cross between Stuart Sutcliffe and Jim Morrison. His band has the potential to become legendary, provided they are more than mere poseurs; provided too that they've been reading all the right books and have real depth going on behind the purdy eyes.

    Amazing beginnings though.

  • This band will b big wun day :D i promise! the sound off of them is fantastic. love it :D:D:D:D:D

  • i agree with you completely!!!!

  • brmj

  • awesome song!!!
