  • watchin snapped

  • Melissa can do no wrong! You just gotta love her!

  • She is a such an awesome performer and her songwriting is just mind-blowing. I love how you can listen to any of her songs, then relate to your own life or even her life (if you are a die hard fan like me!). Keep rockin' Melissa! and see you next month! x)

  • AWESOME. What ever happened to real music!

  • Beautiful

Thank you so much for the music

    <3

  • this is one of my all time favorite cd's! Love the the lyrics to this song!

  • its a real shame that todays music dosent have the same passion and talent that melissa has i allways have and allways will love this song

  • I love the fact that she really makes you feel this song.

  • I remember having the same hairdo and similar fashions. What a fun time!!!

  • man this takes me back! Summer when I was 17....those nights were hot and sultry and everything meant something.

  • Melissa makes music for her fans... I don't think her music at this point is about picking up new and younger audiences. I don't think kids today could get past the fact that she had a mullet, isn't the "pretty", and clearly looks like a lesbian. But, there will be some young girl who will hear her music and just get how good Melissa's music was... her last album was shite. But i'm still a fan

  • Is Melissa still recording? This was the first of her songs I heard and I remember her performing it with Joan Osbourne. I went out and purchased the CD and saw her in concert. My older brother and I used to sing this one in the car when we were driving.

  • She's beautiful. Always been a fan. Love her songs, performances.

  • You can just tell she would know what she was doing. asd;flkjas;dklfjas;lkdjfa;lskdjf;asld

  • I saw this 1st tour in 88 at the tx longhorn for 10 bucks and fell in the with her and voice with all true messagesin all her songs...and now loved for 23 yrs....u keep me going GF ..keep it up we LUV YOU!!!!!

  • @gypsyd2002 oh my god so did I and I havent stopped loving her. I do think she's better from the beginning of her career than now. She is and always will be amazing.

  • i dont care what they call her ..her songs are real..and she is real..she's a lesbian ok but a loving person..that's raw talent there..

  • Saw her when she was starting out...she played at Blossom and opened for Bruce Hornsby. No one had heard of her but that changed after her performance.

  • i'd have done her, even with the mullet.

  • @Butterfly15323In the 80's when Melissa was a big hit, thoughts of her being a lesbian didn't cross our mind, & if others had thought she was, kept it 2 themselves. But she looked like a woman, dressed like a rough chick, wearing mans clothes cos this was her image and we loved it, so r u the type of person that looks at a woman with a shaved head wearing jean, shirt, thinking 2 urself shes a lesbian. Not that she might have cancer or had it saved 4 cancer research or likes havin no hair.

  • @Butterfly15323She looks like a woman! open ur eyes, f****n wank. Woman don't have 2 look like a dud 2 be considered a lesbian. This look was normal in the 80's 4 men & woman. So does this mean I looked like a dud in the 80's cos I 2 dressed like this & I'm not a lesbian, not that there's any thing wrong with that.

  • Who cares who she prefers. This is one rockin' tune!!!

  • Who gives a f--k what she looks like, This is raw talent in its purest sense.

  • castration fears... tsts.

  • my very most favorite song by her ir any other female artist

  • This is the second video I produced for Melissa in 1988 with famous Music Video Director Tony Van Den Ende on London's Vivid Productions. (no not the porno house!) We shot in a club call Mississippi Nights in St Louis and a club in Lexington Kentucky of all places. At the time actor Lou Diamond Phillips (LaBamba)was a cose friend. I thought it was a great time to bring a female Assistant Director since there were not many so I brought Lou's wife Julie Cypher. Well the rest is history!

  • Esta es una grosa de verdad

  • Melissa was owning that mullett! sweet........lmao love her!!!!!!!!!!

  • jóóóóóóóó!

  • Classic!!!

  • this is when i had really high hopes for mellissa, but like so many others she faded into mediocraty

  • @gregoryrobinson215 She has hardly done that-she continues to be a well-loved, top performer. She has changed and altered her music style from time to time, but that just makes her versatile. The millions of us who have followed her career from the beginning say 'what the hell do you know about it'?

  • @Free2bepurp nicely said Free... well as u can tell, gregory is a boy!! Obviously doesn't know a damn thing about her, her journey or the story she tells on reflection in her music... the great woman with soul has never needed nor wanted to be famous, she is just telling a story for those who may need or like to listen to the tales she has to tell :)) xxxxx

  • I so know this song

  • My god,Melissa is sooooo Amazing!!!

  • Two words...

    Kick Ass

  • i love this song so damn much!

  • come check out my version of IM THE ONLY ONE!! Pls let me know what you think - if you hate it or love it, i dont mind - would just love some feedback!

  • I think Tina Turner missed having a monster hit by not covering this in the late '80s

  • @ilovalivia I THOUGHT it WAS Tina Turner the very first time I heard this song, granted my itty bitty boom box speakers were not the best! Amazing you mentioned TT.

  • ps vevo killed the music video fan............

  • This is Melissa's first music video, filmed at the Mississippi Nights Club, St. Louis in 1988, and directed by Julie Cypher.

Over 21 years later, and Melissa still sounds briliant, she can still bring us to our knees :)

  • Oh no, the old UMG seem to be gone, with all the history of posts, like a bushfire that wipes out all the treasured memories.

    "l don't know how l'm gonna survive" - exactly.
