hi, nice vid- good job. My F-86 received a white body and the original spoilers plus some Led's & EPF Gear.
I try to make a movie in spring time.
The gear is like your front gear from EPF but I changed to the metal plate version according bad experiences with the original plastic one's.
I share your opinion that the EPF DSR 40 retract set / HK components are quite undersized for a plane like this in addition with a grass runway ( if you have a rough landing it quits!!).
Great work on the F-86...I really like the Carbon-fiber rods the you put in the wings...About to start my FlyFly F-86...I'm modifing mine with flaps retracts full flying elevator and speed brakes...Waiting to get that Turnigy 9X radio from Hobbyking...Going to make vides of the build....
@PatBALEX Thanks, you'll be very happy with your Sabre she flies fantastic. She can slow down quite well but the brakes and flaps you want to add should give it more scale. Looking forward to seeing your video
It flies nice. I like the way you added the carbon. The landing gear look scale as they are. Why would shortening the landing gear make it get off quicker unless you changing the incidence (leaving the nose wheel long)? Is the CG where it is recommended. If not that is why it doesn't want to rotate.
@Eugensdiet Yeah CG is fine. The way it was the plane was sitting virtually level mayyyybe even with the nose slightly down, by shortening the main gear(rear only) OR lengthening the nose strut you increase the AOA and it helps with shorter climb out. This will work on any tricycle gear setup on planes where you find you're getting a long take off. It's actually a common thing with this particular model (& Art-tech SU27) I just wanted to try it stock (like in the video) before I made any changes
@foot8sativa The nosewheel is made by EPF and is a DSR2, you can also pay extra and now get them in a 'TITAN' series which just means they come with metal sideplates.
This video jammed packed with tons of great info. Nice paced video as well - I liked the commentary over the flight videos (dual video cut bonus!). Appreciate you making this video!
I have those $7 hobby king electric retracts on their way and I am excited to hear they work well. I don't have this F-86 Sabre yet but I have the 80mm F-86 by Hobby-Lobby and the 64mm Hobby-Lobby versions.
I love 90mm EDF's and really enjoy flying the banana hobby F-4 90mm and 90mm Hobby-Lobby Eurofighter.
@tastyseabass Thanks, the dual video was a bit of experimenting but I think it worked well :) Sounds to me like you also like your EDF's, great stuff 8)....that Eurofighter kinda has my eye to, hmmm maybe a birthday present to myself lol!
Awesome!! Man you're taking over for quality reviews. Nice work! Nice honesty, Nice mods, Nice flying, Nice jet!
Just completed my first EDF (70mm) using NP airframe and hobbyking everything else. Be way below your pay grade obviously but it is a good first experience with EDF for me. The snow is starting to melt here and she'll be up in the sky soon! Thanks for the extra motivation, gotta go hug my plane now...
@Ispintechno1 Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it. Which airframe did you go with? 70mm's are a great place to start for a first edf. The F35, F22, F15 and Sabre are very stable airframes and you'd be hard pressed to find a bad flying one anywhere. Look forward to seeing your video of it :)
@PARTYjohn69 Not the easiest airframe as the real bird but has some quirks, but I got the Airfield F-4 Phantom 70mm. Stuck in a hobby king 2800kv motor, 6 blade fan, turnigy plush 60amp ESC. Bench testing shows with the ESC on high timing I'm pulling a little over 600w, about 43amps I think it was on 4S. Attempting to program in some flaperons with my DX7 as it has those large inboard ailerons, but won't use it on the maiden.

Part 2:
Can you or someone else please give me an information about the correct CG?
There are two different positions marked for the recommended 215-220 mm:
1. Outer edge of wing profile
2. Left out area at the Center fuselage position
Thanks for your replies.

Great Video! I have one these and it's the best flying plane I've ever had.... I'm using the EPF's with the upgraded metal sides.

You'll enjoy the Eurofighter and now Hobby-Lobby offers the V2 version wich comes standard with the electric retracts. Keep up the good work!
