  • proper mulite too.just cool

  • Possed by the spirit of Keith Moon :)

  • Nick was great then, but he's even better now!!!

  • Rock & roll immunity.

  • Inarticulate and nothing of interest to say.....how can this guy be so popular...?

  • Nick would have been 33-34 at this time.

  • Nick is one of the best singer/songwriters still working today.

  • this is awesome to see, like time travel. thanks for posting it!

  • Dave's portion of this is PAINFUL.

  • Whatever religion or none at all, Nick Lowe is divinity incarnate!

  • Nick Lowe = Jesus of cool. No fuzz, no fight, just pure (musical) impact

  • Martin Belmont from Ducks Deluxe!

  • I will always remember this interview. At that time, I too despised Reo Speedwagon, Journey and Stixx... I felt so happy when he said that.

Long live Nick, Dave and Rockpile.

  • What a genius this guy is.

You shouldn't be too tough on how he looks. Nick Lowe was fairly old when he released this song. He'd been playing since the 60's and would have been in his late 30's in this clip. He party pretty hard tho back then I'm told

Hell of a band, Paul Carrack from UK Squeeze playing keys, Martin Belmont on guitar, Bobby Irwin on drums and James Eller on bass.

  • @astrotabasco

hey there how did you get all that info??

  • @itsleo part memory - part google. I saw that line up play once or twice. They're all primo musicians. They were known as "Nick Lowe and his Cowboy Outfit".

  • @astrotabasco

That must have been awesome, by coincidence we are online at the same time!

    Cheers!

  • Zero dislikes.

  • Nick looks quite grey and haggard and thats only 4 years after that song was originally in the charts!! His appearance has chanced soo much in that short space of time!!

  • Great band (same lineup as in the Ragin' Eyes video), fantastic song, inspired performance. And what a mullet! Nick is the best.

  • Thanks for posting this!I think Letterman still has on the best music guests.

  • If this is circa 1983 Nick must have had a hell of a hard life since 1978!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • letterman actually looks kind of hip.

Nick's vocal is a bit off - he sounds much better nowadays

  • @theGrape Letterman -was-, sort of, hip...30 years ago. Nowadays he's a tired, cynical mirage of his former self. Fortunately Lowe is the exact opposite.
